July is National Watercolor Month, and I can’t think of a better time to pause and appreciate what this beautiful medium has brought into my life. 🎨

Watercolor has taught me so much more than how to paint. It has taught me to let go of perfection, to trust the process, and to find beauty in the unexpected blooms, drips, and layers. It has slowed me down enough to really be curious.
This past year has been especially meaningful as I’ve embraced calling myself an artist. That one little word felt big at first, but each brushstroke has helped me grow into it. Whether I’m painting wildflowers, little landscapes from our travels, or something inspired by my grandson Miles, every piece tells a story of curiosity, gratitude, and joy.

To everyone who has encouraged me, followed along, purchased a painting, or simply paused to admire one—thank you. Your kindness has meant more than you know.

There are hot dogs… and then there’s a St. Louis hot dog. 🌭🇺🇸

For our Fourth of July celebration, we decided to create a hot dog inspired by the flavors of our hometown. We piled it high with some of the tastes that make St. Louis so memorable, and the result was a fun conversation starter around the table. Isn’t it amazing how one simple meal can tell the story of a place?

I love finding little ways to celebrate where we live, whether it’s through gardens, road trips, recipes, or family traditions. This hot dog was one more reminder that the best memories often come from taking something ordinary and adding a little creativity… and a lot of hometown love.
