Geese are loving the pond and the silver Appleyard ducks are finally letting them get close.

We went into this season saying we’d keep it simple.

A few layers.

A handful of turkeys.

Some ducks next month.

Calm. Sensible. Totally manageable.

Then apparently we blacked out, woke up in the feed store, and said “surprise me.”

Now we’ve got 12 extra laying hens, 25 turkeys, and today we added 8 geese, because why not turn the farm into a feathery version of Jurassic Park — except the dinosaurs honk, glare, and chase you like you owe them money.

And just when we thought the chaos was complete…
We remembered we also have 12 rabbits due next month.
Because nothing says “relaxing farm year” like a maternity ward full of tiny fuzz rockets preparing to multiply like they’re trying to win a competition.

At this point we’re not “planning” the farm.
We’re just supporting characters in whatever chaotic storyline the birds — and soon, the rabbits — are writing.
