Warning, this maybe a long post.
First off we are back home from one of our favorite comps. in Murphysboro Illinois 17th Street Barbecue. Great weather finally. We thought we had a good cook. Judging somewhat agreed. Was able to bring home an Apple with a 4th place chicken call with a perfect score. Congrats to our buddy over at 1 Bite Stand for their grand championship and punching their ticket to Vegas.
Second another bbq comp celebrating my wife and I anniversary. Happy Anniversary and I love you. 😘
Third and final, we are going to take a step back from competing in Bbq. We made this decision a several weeks back. We already made the decision earlier this year not to do the American Royal, but heading to northern Missouri for a smaller competition and this will be our last for the year. This doesn’t mean this will be our last. We may do 1 or maybe 5 a year or even none. 🤷♂️ Maybe even do some backyard type classes or whatever classes we decide. We just don’t know. Maybe in the next couple years and will be back doing our normal 15ish or more but for now we are looking forward to the little break. We do have to thank all the people that have helped us through the past several years. We appreciate you all. We will still be busy as always with both kids travel sports so no time to rest. But maybe we will take a real vacation or few more camping trips. Hopefully get to play a little more golf like I used too.
