Located in the beautiful, historic Lafayette Square neighborhood of St. Louis, Vicini pastaria, café, & market strives to create a genuine Italian experience where all who walk through our doors are welcomed as neighbors, friends, or family. Vicini is a small, neighborhood, Italian pastaria, café, and market focused on our house-made fresh pasta sold raw to cook at home, along with some grab-n-go

prepared foods perfect for a picnic in Lafayette Park, a local and imported Italian specialty food market, a small curated selection of European-inspired antiques, furnishings, home decor, and kitchenwares, and finally, dine-in counter-service lunch, communal Cena con Amici (“Dinner with Friends”) pop-up dinners, and cooking classes. We invite neighbors, guests, and friends to select some handmade pasta, meatballs, or local artisan products from the market to enjoy at home, or to gather around our table to share a prosciutto panino, a simple plate of our signature hand-rolled pici pasta, or communal family-style feasts; all lovingly hand-crafted with the utmost care and rustic simplicity characteristic of authentic Italian cuisine.

🚴‍♂️ Gateway Cup 🚴‍♀️ is this weekend! Friday’s 🚲 races (Tour de Lafayette) will take place right here in Lafayette Square so we’re keeping our kitchen open late with extended hours with our full menu available 11:30am-6:30pm (with a brief break from 3-3:30pm to reset) with seating indoors and out on our patio just east of the race course.
📣Please note that there will be no Aperitivo Friday happy hour on Sept 4th.
➡️Swipe for street closure notifications and map. Park Ave right in front of Vicini will be closed so guests will need to park just East of Vail Place to visit us on Friday, Sept 4th.

We will be CLOSED for regular service from Sept 25th–Oct 15th as part of our team travels to Italy for culinary study, research, and inspiration.
✈️We are beyond excited to begin our travel adventures in Italy's best-kept culinary secret: the breathtaking region of Umbria! We are incredibly honored that our very own Chef Dawn is among only 10 candidates to be selected to participate in an intensive cultural and regional culinary heritage course at the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, diving deep into “Umbria Experience: An immersive journey into the cultural heritage of Umbrian food and landscape.”! 🎓✨
✈️We’ll continue our culinary adventures in another hidden gem of a region: Le Marche, known for its incredible truffles, artisanal pastas, and coastal seafood. Finally, we'll finish our trip in Rome to taste and study its iconic pizza styles and legendary pasta dishes! 🏛️🍕🍝

✨DESIGN & DECOR INSPIRATION✨
This trip also doubles as a design scouting and sourcing expedition for our home decor shop, Reminisce Decor! We'll be exploring legendary historic antique and collectible markets, sourcing timeless vintage pieces, and soaking in architectural inspiration throughout our travels to bring Italian style back home to you!

While we are closed for regular service at the cafe, the rest of our amazing team is staying in town to host some fun POP-UP EVENTS right here at our cafe in Lafayette Square! 💥

🌶 Pasta al pesto Calabrese:
(Pasta with spicy roasted red pepper pesto) Housemade fresh pasta in a quintessentially southern Italian nut-free spicy-sweet-creamy pesto of spicy Calabrian chiles, sweet roasted red peppers, heirloom and San Marzano tomatoes, oregano, and creamy ricotta. Garnished with shaved ricotta salata cheese and blistered shish*to pepper. Add ‘nduja (spicy spreadable Calabrian salame) for an extra kick!! Or cool it down with creamy fresh burrata/stracciatella cheese.
