Kate Chandler Campus Community Farm

Our campus farm is located on Route 5, right after Rosecroft Road, Across the street from Mattapany, behind the house. Feel free to reach out and ask questions!

Anyone in the community is welcome here! There's lots of weeding, planting, clearing, and harvesting to do, so come on out and find a job that interests you!

1) The Environmental Studies Program at St. Mary’s College of Maryland is excited to recruit an environmental humanist or social scientist to expand our interdisciplinary academic offerings in the environment and deepen our commitment to the broad theme of critical climate studies. What's up class of 2022!

I hope everyone is doing well and had a fun weekend. I am reaching out to ask if everyone could fill out a very short survey about bringing a local farm stand to campus! Here is some background info:

The Environmental Studies Program and the Kate Chandler Campus Community Farm (Kate Farm) believe the SMCM community deserves easy, affordable access to local, sustainable produce and products on campus. (The Kate Farm is an experiential and educational farm 1/8 mile from campus committed to growing good food and community.)

This survey is meant to help in the planning and launching of a Kate Farm Stand in Spring 2022 which will be located on the first floor of the Campus Center near The Grind. Answering the questions from this survey will help shape what local goods might be offered at the Kate Farm Stand in the Campus Center.

The atmosphere while volunteering is relatively an at-your-pace kind of thing. Come over whenever, weather to explore, learn more about the school, or to get some work done! :)
