Welcome to today's buck & doe of the week! You have to excuse the pictures, I forgot to take some 😅

So, who are the buck & doe of the week?
⭐️ Buck - Morning Dove Rabbitry Sidney (Netherland Dwarf Broken Chocolate Sr Buck)
⭐️ Doe - 34 Rabbits Rabbitry Folkston (Netherland Dwarf Black Otter Sr Doe)

Sidney was born on August 29th, 2025 and we acquired him on March 26th, 2026. He was a big boost for our Broken program, having already earned himself 3 grand championship legs (3 BOVS, 1 BOG)! I wanted to highlight him as he was bred to out Doe of the week last month and their kits will be born around the 20th (if she took)! He is an absolute sweetheart, and is so willing to work with me regardless of what we are doing. He carries tortoiseshell.

Folkston was born on July 10th, 2025 from Morning Doves Hela (ND Black Otter doe) & Morning Doves Bojangles (ND Black Otter buck, who was previously starred). She was an absolute GAME CHANGER for my barn, and I am incredibly proud of her. She has racked up 9 total grand championship legs with 5 Best of Breed & 3 Best in Show wins. I adore her, as much as she does not live posing by any means. I would also like to highlight her placement in Nationals - 15th in the Sr Otter Doe class! I am excited to get some gorgeous babies from her & Sidney. Unsure what she carries.

**Update - the Jr. Doe & Sr. Buck are pending**

Plans in the barn are changing & I have found myself no longer in need of *most* of my chocolate dutch. I (Mom) am letting go of a Sr. Doe (proven), a Sr. Buck (proven), a Jr. Doe, and I have 5 littles that are still little I don't plan on keeping. These are all great animals that come from great lines. Please PM me or the page if interested.

I always love to give my rabbits, especially the kits, things to do outside the cage such as letting them walk around the garage, walking them outside on a leash, or my personal favorite: letting them get their zoomies out in a play pen. While I was feeding, I decided to give my two ND mama's a break and set up a small play pen, put some stuff in there, and let both of those litters in there at the same time. It did not disappoint!

Not only did all of those kits get along, they also had a really fun time together! They acted as if they were all littermates; no dominance battles or chasing ❤️

Definitely gonna do again!

Welcome to today's buck & doe of the week! Since this is the first time I will be doing this, let me explain what it is.

The buck & doe of the week will highlight one buck and one doe in my herd each Sunday, whether that buck and doe are siblings, a breeding pair, award-winning, or just in general a rabbit of mine that does not get enough attention! I am really excited to start this series and hope to give everyone a look into our herd a bit more!

So, who are the buck & doe of the week?
⭐️ Buck - Morning Dove Rabbitry Bojangles (or as we call Soda) (Netherland Dwarf Black Otter Sr Buck)
⭐️ Doe - 34 Rabbits Rabbitry Nug-Nug (Netherland Dwarf Blue Jr Doe)

Soda was born on October 8th, 2024 and we acquired him on February 24th, 2025. He has done our Netherland Dwarf herd VERY well, having earned himself 2 grand championship legs and producing our best rabbit (who has 9 grand championship legs); Folkston! I wanted to highlight him as I don't give him enough credit for his contributions to the herd, but I am looking to breed him with Nug-Nug when she turns 7-8 months old. He is a much bigger boy, being my largest non-false Netherland in my barn, but I have made sure that he stays happy and healthy. I am hoping to continue working with him (and make him more acceptable to posing 🥴). He carries self.

Nug-Nug was born on January 7th, 2026 from Tuckaways Skye (ND Blue doe) & Ohana Farms of Georgia Duffy (ND Siamese Sable buck). Despite having longer fur than required, she is such a pretty rabbit on the show tables! So far she has 1 (hopefully 2 after my show yesterday) grand championship leg, with multiple Best of Varieties (including one from the day after specialty show at ANDRC Nationals), and a Best opposite S*x Group! Each time I take her out, I like her more! I gotta say, blues have to be my favorite between the 4 base colors. I believe she will be a great match for Soda. She carries either Sable or REW.

On May 16th, we had the pleasure of attending the Dover Florida Triple Show. While it was my mom's first time showing (and I am very proud of her), I will let her post her own results as they are her rabbits. I showed in all Youth shows, and here are my results!

--OVERALL--
I am REALLY pleasantly surprised with how I did! Stardust & St. Marys really took me by surprise with how they did, especially with them being only 2.5 months old and siblings! Of course, where credit is due, their sire was borrowed from OutHouse Farms. I can't wait to see how they grow out! With Sidney (and quite frankly Golden Jubilee), I was happy to see them place well competing in the Broken variety and I can't wait to see what they do in later shows!

But of course, this show marks some things. Both good and bad, of course! To start, this was my first show (except for ANDRC Nationals) since August for me to not enter Golden Yellows (Not to say there wasn't any entered, credit to Outhouse Farms with their two GYs entered in the open shows). I did have a fair reason for this!! Honey was on a litter and I did not have room for Felix. Second, this show marks Duffy's retirement from the show tables. It not that he's getting too old or I'm not happy with him, it's that he gets very much stressed out at shows and I never want to put him through that as long as he is in my herd. He has already proved himself a solid buck, he doesn't need to prove himself more.
Lastly (and more excitingly), it was my mom's first show! She entered in all 3 open shows with 3 of her Dutch, and although she doesn't seem very enthusiastic about how she did I am INCREDIBLY proud of her and hope that she keeps going!
