HRFF 2026 Summer Camp Day 5!

Morning Rounds ✅

Project: Build a fire & make SMORES! ✅

As we wait for the pool to be ready, we bought out the water guns, water balloons, yard games, and slip & slide!

We also threw some Holy Roots Chicken Wings on the fire so slow cook! 🍗

They’ve enjoyed s’mores, cooling off with water fun, fruit, lemonade, popcorn, a movie in the classroom, and more! Perfect way to end the week 💚

Wash the pine needles that we collected the past 2 days✅

Make pine needle soda✅

Project for the day:
-Pine Needle Soda
-Set up over fire cooking station for Friday

We have also found a tiny little turtle in our pool skimmer & the campers have decided to make “Charlie” our camp mascot 🤣🥰

Holy Roots Family Farm 2026 Summer Camp started today!

A week full of impactful projects, exciting adventures, and connecting with friends in nature!

Today our campers built benches for our picnic area! They have learned:
-taking proper measurements
-safety & use of circular saw
-safety & use of drill driver
-teamwork makes the dream work!

Daily Schedule:

9a-10a: They will be doing “rounds” with me, feeding and watering each animal group and the garden.

10a-12p: Educational Farmhand Program

•15-30minutes of classroom time to go over the project for the week, tools used, impact of project on farm, safety rules, next steps (as week progresses), take home packet with this info provided at the start of each week.
•1.5 hours of work on specific project

12p-1p: Lunch in the classroom

1p-2p: Animal Interaction: Hand feeding, petting, brushing, playing

2p-3p: Explore: Nature Trails & Pond(fishing), snack

3p-4p: Pool(once open), Wrap up/reflection, pick up

Our first calf born on the farm has arrived!

Pretty girl & Kodak’s bull calf has made his debut!

Mama is getting used to her new job, baby is walking, nursing, and resting!

Thankful for the first of many successful calvings on the farm! 💚
