And just like that our last wheelbarrow of our wood chip blessing from June has been spread! 🥲

I way underestimated how much wood chips we would need to get all of our high traffic animal areas ready for mud season. 🌧️

We’ve already noticed a huge improvement with being able to manage mud and moisture for our sheep’s hoof health with all these summer storms.

I’ll never take a load of wood chips for granted, so if you see me tailing it after any dump truck with a chipper attached to hand the driver our farm card—no you didn’t. 🙊

PS. don’t judge my unfinished paint job this rain is testing me!

Just keep spinning, just keep spinning! What do we do? We spin, spin.

Or something like that… 🤭

Finally making it about halfway through the Jacobs sheep fleece I purchased last year at Fall Fiber Festival and Montpelier Sheep Dog Trials.

Just in time to buy more fleeces at the festival this year (as if I don’t have our boys wool to still process from spring).

Spinning this wool has made me REALLY want to get a Jacobs sheep for our flock, it has been so much fun and better than any wool I’ve spun so far. So if anyone knows of any Jacobs sheep folks… 😉

Phase 2 (of whoever knows how many) for the big pasture on The Ridge!

4 months later and we’re finally getting around to installing the big gate to the orchard area. 🤪

Breaking in the new auger so we can finish adding the remaining dry lots and paddocks before winter and then have an easier time planting our new orchard trees come spring! 💪🏼 🪏

Only a couple more weeks of summer and taking advantage of the last of this weather to make some solar tea ☀️

How to make solar tea:

🫙 Place a clear glass jar with water and tea of choosing (bags or loose leaf)
☀️ Set it out in the sun for 3-5 hours
🧊 Add ice, honey, fresh mint and enjoy!

I swear this is the best way to make sweet tea during the summer, especially with honey from our very own hives. 🍯

Hey fiber artists… how are all your WIPS going? 😅

Because I completely forget about spinning for the last two months while the garden was at its peak… Whoops..

Holidays are 3 months away, time to get to spinning! My goal was to have crocheted gifts all summer so I wasn’t rushed in the fall… and still over here spinning and plying yarn for said projects. 🤭
