A little autumn surprise!

We’re coming back to the Greene Farmers Market this Saturday!

The flowers are beginning to wind down, the mornings are getting cooler, and we’re soaking up these last lovely weeks of the season. We’ll be bringing fresh Bear Meadows bouquets to historic downtown Stanardsville, and we’d love to see some familiar faces!

The end of September at Bear Meadows means it’s time to tuck our unused rows in for the winter.

Our soil gives us so much throughout the growing season, so now it’s time to give a little something back.

Cover crops help replenish and protect the soil, prevent erosion, and provide food and habitat for wildlife through the colder months.

It’s one of those quieter farm tasks that doesn’t produce a bouquet or make it to market, but it’s an important part of caring for this little piece of land we’re lucky enough to grow on.

Good morning! We have a small, special selection of Bear Meadows bouquets at the Charlottesville City Market this morning.

We’re bringing a limited number of bouquets, so once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Can’t make it to the market? We’ll also have a small selection of fresh bouquets at The Bottle House w**e bar BottleHouse this afternoon. Bottle House is located at 608 W Main St, Charlottesville

Winter prep is underway here at the farm, and we got a new high tunnel!

We’ll be planting some of our spring seedlings out in here next week. It’s always a little strange to be thinking about spring when we’re just getting started with fall blooms, but that’s how it goes around here. The seasons are always overlapping.

Tomorrow at the Charlottesville City Market, you can create a bouquet that’s completely your own.

Choose your favorite colors from buckets overflowing with fresh, zinnias, grown here at Bear Meadows Flower Farm.

No two bouquets will be alike, and that’s exactly the fun of it.

We’ll also have our signature mixed bouquets, sunflowers, and other seasonal flowers fresh from the farm.
