The Story behind Kay’s Place Market

Sheri Kay Davis, a native Kentuckian, retired from teaching in Florida and moved back home to Kentucky. Kay and her daughter, Katie, dreamed of opening a traditional deli in order to introduce the Cuban sandwich, which we had been craving since we moved. Katie ran a deli sandwich shop in Florida and was anxious to share her talents with our friends in Kentucky. Kay’s Place’s goals were for people to never leave hungry, to have a comfortable place to gather with friends, and to serve quality deli items. We did not want to be another fried-food diner. A restaurant in Junction City offers fried food including burgers. A local gas station offers fried chicken and other items. The Dairy Dip offers a large variety of delicious fried food items and yummy ice cream.

Kay’s Place offers the best, pressed, deli sandwiches using quality meats, cheeses, and fresh produce. Breakfast items, tacos, nachos, and open-faced sandwiches are also on our menu. We have homemade coleslaw and homemade potato salad as well as Snyder chips to have on the side. Homemade cakes and delicious pies round out a full meal. We are your hometown traditional deli. We even slice meat and cheese to order. Although we do not offer fried food, we are proud of the quality and taste of the food we serve. Pressed is best, and we are the only place where you get such luxurious sandwiches.
