With the ever changing scenes of what the media promotes is good for you and the growing big pharma issues- we have always been deemed as "tree huggers" and have tended to the natural as possible approach. Now more than ever, we feel that isn't only an option, as it is a necessity to eliminate processed foods, big pharma and GMOs from our lives as much as we possibly can. We are not organic- but strive to be as close to that as feasibly possible.

We are about to wrap up lambing, we kinda think we are done- but we are hopeful for a maiden ewe to possibly lamb. She has tested positive, has a tiny udder but never gives us a lamb. We had a chat with her- let's hope she listened. Other than that we are done. We have several bottle babies, of course we will retain the ewe, Tizzy, her mom Lizzy is being retired.
Charles is the 3 lb triplet that is just barely 10 lbs after 30 days. I think we will keep him just to see how he grows out, of course he will never be breeder quality but will make a good friend with the Billy goat.
This is RΓΌya's first lambing and she is doing incredible with the lambs. She is not allowed to be left alone just yet. She has been left alone with the goats and Tati keeps her in line. Tati keeps all the dogs in line πŸ˜†

If all goes well, we will add milking sheep to the fun around here. There are going to be some changes, especially after lambing this year- we definitely need to downsize again.
As for now, we welcome Gladys and her ewe lamb, Jeepers. Gladys is still in milk although I doubt we get on the stand this season. They are in a quarantine paddock right now. We will test and decide what happens next.
Gladys is what we call a wool sheep/ dairy sheep so I better learn how to shear. Our regular herd are hair sheep- because we are lazy farmers πŸ˜† So, until now we have never needed to shear. Needless to say- you will probably never see pictures of her after her terrible hair cuts πŸ˜‚
My husband sacrificed his whole day to drive out to North Carolina to pick up these 2 beauties!

Tati and her favorite place. Tati is a Saanen goat. This breed of goat is the "Holstein" of milking goats, they provide a lot of milk for such a small animal.
Dairy animals also look thin, I don't like this about them but it's just what it is. She eats well- trust me. She refuses to get on the milking stand unless she has nothing but the finest alfalfa and oats in that bucket πŸ˜†

We have 2 polled pure blooded Saanen doelings for sale. $300 each. We are a clean, tested farm. They are located in Stantonville TN. Born mid Feb. I'm currently milk sharing with moms. They are both eating grain. Ready for a new farm.

Our newest baby, he is a bull. His momma is that red Dexter. That's his Auntie CoraBelle that looks similar to him. Halfway through the video you see Darcy chasing CoraBelle's heifer away.
This guy is almost 1 day old πŸ’œ. I was surprised to see momma bring him out of the woods so soon.

We have 2 puppies (only 1 pictured here) available a 6 month old female and a 14 month old female. The 6 month old is very timid and has proven herself to be safe with our house goat. The 14 month old is your typical rambunctious teenager.
These are LIVESTOCK guardian dogs. They need a job. They also need time and attention in order to mature into an amazing dog.
If you are interested in inquiring about one of them, go to our website at www.blacklocustkatahdins.com under Kangal Dogs-and fill out a puppy placement questionnaire. Puppies are $3000 each and have a contract that will accompany them.
They need a structural sound fence. Females are the pack leaders- these girls will not be a good fit if you already have an existing intact female.

2 days, 10 batches of goats milk tallow soap. 4 of those are brand new scents offered in the Etsy store, they will be ready in about 30 days.
I try to use as many essential oils as I can but sometimes (unfortunately) I have to use fragrance oil for my scents. The difference is listed as an EO (essential oil) in the scent listing for those of you looking just for the EOs.
At most I use 5 key ingredients for this soap, I can pronounce every single one. Tallow (I rendered), goats milk (farm fresh), sodium hydroxide or AKA as pot ash or lye, a scent and sometimes a mica powder for color. My soap "naked" has only 3 ingredients as it has no scent, no mica for a colorant.
The new soaps to be offered soon are
Pina Colada (blend of coconut, vanilla & pineapple)
White Musk
Gardenia
Autumn Woods (blend of pine needle, pumpkin and the scent of autumn).

Pictured is White Musk.

We still offer 20+ other scents but are frequently sold out. Favorite our shop so you will get updates when things are back in stock.

I want to share a few 5 star reviews from the Etsy shop. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
19 years ago my husband asked if I could do anything what would it be? I said I want to make lotions, soaps & powders and that stuff without all the chemicals and crap they try to push on us.
19 yrs later- I'm doing it and people love and appreciate it.
It took longer than I imagined it would, I have spent so many hours on absolute flops. Try, try again. Never stop improving, never stop period.
