🍅 🌶️ The greenhouse is greenhousing!!! I ran the chickens in here last winter and I can tell the difference. It’s hard to see the scale, but determinates are almost as tall as me and indeterminates are 8’ AND I have been trimming the tops! This year should be a great year for tomatoes, peppers and eggplants.

This hornet nest in the pear tree is so pretty- it is hard to tell, but there are swirls of white, red, brown and tans. I never mind the hornets/wasps as they never give me trouble unless I don’t know where they are and disturb them terribly (there was a bad ground nest vs lawnmower incident years ago…).

Hi All, farmstand is full of yummy berries though 5lb bags are getting harder to come by.

Just stocked the raspberries and strawberries. As the strawberry season slows, the 5 pound bags will be harder to stock as a heads up. Next year we will be increasing production and adding new varieties- yay!!

🌳 Now that I learned, with a little effort, that I can pull out smaller trees with the forks- I am unstoppable. Today I am pulling a few out to make way for a deer fence, because this year has been harder than others with the deer.

⛺️🐛 It’s that time of year- check your trees (especially fruit trees) for tent caterpillars. My apple tree always gets a nest. Usually, I cut off the branch but this was closer to the trunk so I used a fire starting block and some tongs to get rid of them (the tree will be okay). The earlier you catch them, the smaller the nest will be.

🪓 What dishes look like when you have a dedicated food axe (winter squash/Pumpkin). I’m telling you, getting a food axe is the best thing I ever did and it makes preparing winter squash from the garden extra fun. 🤩
