⛺️🐛 It’s that time of year- check your trees (especially fruit trees) for tent caterpillars. My apple tree always gets a nest. Usually, I cut off the branch but this was closer to the trunk so I used a fire starting block and some tongs to get rid of them (the tree will be okay). The earlier you catch them, the smaller the nest will be.

Hi All, We are excited to add Apple wood chew sticks to the offerings in the Farmstand!

Farmstand Location: 7011 300th St NW, Stanwood

Chewing on apple wood helps animals wear down their constantly growing teeth, stay mentally stimulated, and reduce boredom. These orchard chews are especially loved by hamsters, rats, mice, gerbils, guinea pigs, chinchillas, rabbits, and other small rodents. Many birds also enjoy them for natural enrichment.

Each bundle is made from real orchard prunings, carefully dried and cut by hand from trees that have never been sprayed.

🌱 Root hormone in the making. I cut some willow branches from the farm and cut them into small chunks to soak and draw out the natural concentration of rooting hormones. Also, the tips were put in water to do the same thing but later (and to get some more willow).

🐝 It is warm enough today the bees are out flying today. Even January had a lot of fly days. It is always magical to see them out flying during winter.
