Jamie is going to be SO excited when he sees that I finally started cleaning out the barn. 🤣

The big animal barn is probably his favorite thing about this farm. It’s actually pretty funny because the DAY we got access to the farm, he asked me when I was going to clean the barn out. 🤣 Like I didn’t have a million other, more important things to get done first! 😂

Well, Tripp took a nap and actually stayed asleep, so I took advantage of the opportunity and got started cleaning out the tie stalls! 🙌🏻

And just for reference, this is only about 1/4 of the barn. 😅😂 I’ve got my work cut out for me!

Well, I made a triple batch of banana bread! 🍌🤎 Two loaves to enjoy now and the rest went into jars for my FIRST TIME ever canning bread! 😅

I’ve been trying to learn more ways to preserve food and stock our pantry, so of course I had to give this a try!

Now we wait a few weeks before opening one to see how it turned out! 🤞 I’ll let y’all know how it is when I try it!

We didn’t choose the easy path, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Times are tough. We’re working from sun up to sun down, and by the time we finally sit down to rest for the 20 minutes we get, our bones ache and we’re absolutely exhausted. But at the end of the day, we remind ourselves why we’re doing it all.

We’re building a life. We’re building something of our own, something to be proud of, and something to pass down to our child/children one day. And I think there’s something really special about that.

It’s not always easy, and some days are harder than others, but we know what we’re working towards. We might not have all the free time in the world, and we might be tired more often than not, but we’re creating a future for our family, and that means more to us than anything.

One day, we hope all this hard work pays off and gives our kids something they can carry on and build upon themselves.

It might not be the easiest life, but it’s our life, and we wouldn’t trade it for the world. 🤎

Essential tools for fixing fence lines:😂

1. An excavator
2. A whole lot of determination
3. Cows who need to come HOME

Who needs a pair of loppers when you have heavy equipment?! 😂 Getting these fence lines cleaned up so we can fix the fence and bring our cows back home where they belong! ♥️

 I can’t believe it took me THIS long to finally make my own mayonnaise! 😂🤦‍♀️

I kept adding it to my grocery list and forgetting about it, until last night I finally said, “You know what? I’ll just try making it myself!”

WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG?! 🤣 It was seriously SO easy, tastes way better, and with the cost of mayonnaise these days, I’m definitely making my own from now on! 🙌🏼

1 room temp egg
1 cup oil (calls for Avacado oil but I only had vegetable so that’s what I used)
2 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp mustard

put your immersion blender all the way at the bottom of your container and hold it there for about 15 seconds while blending and then slowly pull it up while continuing to blend
