Don’t let this be our store! Having a local store is such a great service to our community especially the elderly! However it takes everyone to keep these small town stores going!

A longtime Sutherland business is preparing to close its doors.

Maline's Superfoods announced Thursday that it will permanently close on Aug. 14, 2026, citing rising operating costs, inflation, increasing labor expenses and competition from larger retailers.

The store's deli will close Aug. 7, and a 15% storewide liquidation sale is now underway (excluding alcohol, to***co and fresh meat).

For decades, Maline's has served generations of families in Sutherland. In a statement, the owners thanked the community for its support, saying customers "have become like family" and that serving the village has been "an honor."
