While checking on a couple of young calves this evening this little guy was off by himself but not for long as momma came running.

This momma is STR Mind Games, the 2026 National Champion Cow, a well deserved title. Here she is doing an amazing job once again. This little bull calf is sired by STR Hickory.

We’ve been very happy with our Scottish sired calves. This group is mostly sired by Seamus of Benmore. These calves have not been handled other than running them through the barn for herd health and yet they are so docile.

It’s only 82 degrees today but still good to park in the shade whenever you can.

Their protective nature is impressive. STR Mirror Image’s new calf was left sleeping down the hill and the herd moved on grazing but when we went to check on him this group of mamas weren’t far behind!

It’s been a while since last posting. Busy as always! When checking on the main herd tonight STR Mind Games, 2026 National Champion Highland Cow, was standing there looking amazing as always. She’s due to calve by STR Hickory in about 3 weeks.
