Seven Trail Crew Volunteers worked on Prater-Murphy Trail #3077 on Friday & Saturday. Friday's Crew worked 1.5 miles of trail from the Murphy Creek Trailhead and Saturday's Crew worked 1.3 miles from the Prater Canyon Trailhead. Great Fall weather with outstanding conditions and views on both sides of Prater Mountain. Work included Fall trail cleanup with water bar and tread maintenance, downed tree removal, some brushing/trimming, and addition of some erosion control dips. "Snow poles" were added at the trailheads for winter recreation safety and to protect infrastructure. Thanks to all the volunteers who "hiked the vertical" to get this work done!!

Four volunteers completed multiple Trailhead and Trail maintenance projects as we prepare for winter:

1) Installed Green Canyon TH winter parking sign and added snow poles to protect infrastructure

2) Installed Cedar Creek TH winter parking signs, cleared/trimmed the winter parking area, and added snow poles to protect infrastructure during the winter months

3) Installed "No Snow Machine" signs at Fox Run Park - - this area is a Town Park which is designated "No Motor Vehicles" year round to preserve the natural landscape and wildlife habitat. Signs are added seasonally as a reminder.

4) Some trail maintenance tasks were accomplished on the first part of Cedar Creek Trail # 3078 - - trimming/brushing, dead tree removal, water bar repairs, maintenance of dips for water drainage, and rock removal from the tread.

Beautiful and busy day for the Crew. We once again welcomed another New Volunteer to the Crew today!!

The Crew worked Cedar Creek Trail #3078 today, with a focus on tread improvements along and adjacent to Cedar Creek. This has been a 3 year project to raise the tread and hopefully keep it dry during spring runoff. In addition, general trail cleanup was done from the Spruce Grove to the Trailhead - - heads up - - still a few muddy spots following the recent rains; Conditions are drying in the sun and most of the trail is in great shape.

The Crew completed some projects over the weekend including the grooming of the Cedar Creek Trailhead parking lot/road and some erosion abatement(following recent monsoon rain) on the entry to Prater-Murphy trail up to the first big fir tree. Enjoy some Fall scenery from the weekend at Cedar TH and Prater-Murphy trail/Prater TH.

A "Monsoon" shortened Crew day on Vista-Prater Trail didn't deter 5 more Volunteers from some barbed wire fence clean-up work and tread maintenance on the north end of the trail. Worth the trip out there today - great color, moist trail tread to work on, and made it out without getting too wet - - almost!
