Long time, no post!!! Hello to everyone! I hope your chicken keeping in this heat hasn't been unbearable!

I've decided to downsize slightly on the birds I continue to breed. My first love has always been Orpingtons. I have acquired 4 English Orpingtons, just 2 black and 2 blue. They are young, but uncomplicated! And they are so friendly already!

Now, I said I was downsizing! I am, I promise! I'm selling my Russian Orloff flock. One roo, 4 laying hens just over 1.5 years, 1 hen about 10 months old and 1 chick that one of the moms just hatched! In this heat! $150 for the flock.

Blue Ameraucana flock. One blue roo, 2 blue hens, 2 black hens and 1 splash hen. All under 2 years old and laying. One of the moms is broody now! I'm collecting the eggs daily, but she wants to hatch something! $150 for the flock.

Various roos. 1 Blue Ameraucana, 2 Black Ameraucana, 1 Welbar, 2 Olive eggers and 1 Blue Wheaton Ameraucana. These roos are $10 each.

First hatch of spring. And these are the survivors! We had an incident after the first chick hatched. I noticed my kitten investigating the incubator with 1 chick hatched and multiple eggs pipped. I didn't worry though. I've incubated in the same spot in my house for 4 years and none of my cats mess with the incubators! Well, along came Christofur! I was at work when my hubby called to ask me how to reset the incubator. He was panicked sounding. My cat had knocked the incubator off the counter, it opened up, it was on the floor when he found it and my dogs and kitten were on scene! Nuff said! These 8 are my survivors out of 17 that should have hatched. These guys will be grow outs this year and probably keepers for me. I am now setting up the incubator in the spare bedroom where the kitten will not be able to reach!
