Happy Friday friends!

While this may not be the most interesting photo we've ever shared it is a pretty exciting one to see this time of year. That's a tiny garlic shoot, poking up through its bed of straw, looking for some sunshine and fresh air! Just a couple more months and we'll have some yummy scapes. 🧄🧄

This post is also to let you know that we'll be taking the month off April off from the Farmington Farmers' Market. We'll be busy planning, planting and prepping for the summer!

You can always reach out to see if we have something you're missing over the next few weeks. Happy April!

Hello friends,

I wanted to share some upcoming workshops that I am teaching about food preservation. Many of you know that eating locally is very important to us at the farm.

Eating locally year round in Maine means learning good food preservation techniques. And being able to do that safely and confidently means we eat from our pantry for many of our meals.

I'm trained as a Master Food Preserver Volunteer, having taken the course offered by University of Maine Cooperative Extension. I'm excited to share this knowledge with others who might be interested in learning.

There are 2 classes in March I'm teaching.

March 11 at MSAD 54 Adult Ed (Skowhegan)

March 24 at Franklin County Adult Ed (Mt Blue, Farmington).

Both classes are from 6-9pm. Sign up links are in the comments. Let us know if you have any questions!

And also the last one we will be at for awhile. We are taking a few weeks off after this one and hope to be back at the end of March.

So, if you need potatoes, winter squash, garlic and the last of the onions, make it your plan to stop by on Sat. Feb 28 from 10am - 1pm to visit and see what the market has to offer! We also have farm raised red deer venison and pork available.

And of course, don't forget that we have Luce's Maple Syrup products, ready for you to stock up on as we prepare for the coming sugaring season!
