We’re coming off a strong lamb selling season, and now all eyes are on the hogs, and this set is one you do NOT want to miss.

We just want to take a moment and say THANK YOU to every single buyer who believed in our program and invested in this set. It means more to us than you know. These aren’t just transactions to us, they’re relationships, and we are truly excited to walk alongside you through the upcoming show season.

Our job doesn’t stop today.
We’re here for you, whether that’s feeding, showmanship, daily questions, or anything in between. We’re looking forward to mentoring, helping, and doing everything we can to see you succeed in the ring.

The biggest thank you to Kayla and JT, we couldn’t have done this without you. The sale ran as smoothly as it did because of your help. We appreciate you more than we can say!

Like any growing program, we’re always learning. We already have a list of things to improve for next year as we continue to figure out and refine our sale process. That’s part of building something the right way.

We’ll keep saying it. We are incredibly grateful for the support, and we’re proud of how far we’ve come.

But to be honest.. we’re even more excited about where we’re going. The vision is big, and we’re just getting started.

We’re teaming up with University of Maine Cooperative Extension to host a Livestock Judging Evaluation Event right here on the farm! This will be a great opportunity for 4-H’ers to learn, practice, and sharpen their evaluation skills before the season kicks into full swing.

🔥 We’re sneaking up on farrowing… and this set has us fired up. 🔥

Our gilts are exactly where we want them, fresh, bold, and carrying themselves with incredible overall skeleton, balance, and correctness. They’re sound on their feet and legs, bold ribbed, and built to last. Watching them develop has been incredibly rewarding, and they’re setting the stage for what we believe will be an outstanding group of show pig prospects.

What makes this group even more special is the intentional investment behind them. These gilts were artificially bred, and that decision wasn’t taken lightly. We invested countless hours, and significant added cost, researching, evaluating, and hand picking genetics on both ends. Every mating was planned to complement strengths, improve consistency, and produce pigs that can compete at a high level.

But show ring success isn’t our only goal. We want these pigs to be the kind that not only hang banners, but also put the best product possible on families’ dinner tables. Structural integrity, growth, muscle, and overall quality matter just as much in the freezer as they do in the ring, and we refuse to sacrifice one for the other.

This picture came up in my memories today and I couldn’t help but share it.

Laney,
My first sheep. The one that started it all.

She truly fueled the chaos and made me fall completely in love with sheep. I searched for a long time for a ewe of her caliber that fit my price range. I cried after being outbid more times than I’d like to admit. I remember feeling defeated… but still hopeful.

The night I put my final bid in, I went to bed and said, “This is it. If she’s meant to come home, she will.”
I woke up the next morning a sheep owner.

I had no plan. No idea how we’d get her home. No clue what this journey would look like. I just knew she was meant to be mine.

Laney was also the sheep that broke me. When I lost her, I truly thought I’d never look at sheep the same way again. Losing her changed me. It hurt in a way only livestock people understand, because they’re never just animals.

But somehow, she didn’t take my love for sheep with her. She deepened it.

Since Laney, a few other very special ones have hit me in the same way, including her last daughter, Miss Tequila Rose, aka Rosey, who we lost in 2021. And now… we carry still Laney forward through her granddaughters and great-granddaughters.

I picked Laney because of everything I loved her look, her presence, her quality and those are the same traits I still strive for in my flock today. She built the foundation. She shaped my vision. She made this all feel possible.

Laney wasn’t just my first sheep.
She was the beginning of everything.

While most of the world was still asleep, the farm was wide awake. This morning started at 3 am, welcoming new life and continuing the work that defines our farm. We’re in the heart of lambing season a season of long nights, early mornings, and hands on care that never takes a day off.

This behind the scenes work didn’t start today. It started months ago. We spent countless hours this summer implementing a detailed breeding protocol, including CIDRs, to intentionally sync our lambing to the first week of January. January lambing isn’t easy it’s cold, demanding, and adds another layer of stress and responsibility to ensure every baby gets the best possible start and truly thrives. But it’s a challenge we’re willing to take on to produce the quality we believe in.

This work is what builds the foundation for the livestock we raise and the consistency and quality we’re proud to stand behind. Every lamb represents hours of dedication, careful management, and a commitment to raising animals that can help young exhibitors learn, grow, and succeed.

Our buyers, exhibitors, and their families are a huge part of why we do what we do. We’re thankful for those who return year after year, the kids who show up early, put in the long hours, listen to their breeders opinion, follow feeding recommendations, and truly learn what responsibility looks like. That effort shows, not just in the show ring, but in the character being built along the way.

We’re also grateful for our meat customers who support our operation and believe in quality, responsibly raised livestock. Your support helps make everything we do possible.

As we move heavily into lambing season, we’re excited to share that we have a very exciting set of market lambs hitting the ground for this year’s sale. We’re proud of the consistency and quality we’re producing and can’t wait to see these lambs in the hands of hardworking junior exhibitors this season.
