Trim Cane Homestead And Farm

Trim Cane Homestead And Farm A small homestead striving toward self sufficiency and educating others on self sufficiency. Id like to see the disconnect between table and farm gone.

The profile pic was the inside of my greenhouse spring 2018. Since then it has sustained damage from the winds and I lost the plastic. I would like to be able to replace the plastic on the one pictured as well as build a second one next to it. That's my winter goal.

Super excited to have the oberhasli herd now at trim cane homestead and farm. It's been awhile coming. Y'all have all heard the saying it takes a village to raise a child, well I can say it takes a community/family to acquire a goat herd. From Tribble Hill Farms quarantining the goats for much longer than expected, Sid and Janet Petty handling transportation, Cody Ware and Jacob Davenport helping complete the new fence area, myself and Hannah Brady working through the rain to get ready for them and all the people behind the scenes making this dream a reality. Thanks so much to each of you. Looking forward to growing this herd.

Hello everyone, sorry I've been so quiet on here lately but it's been a crazy and hot summer so far. Things are progressing along here and as you see babies have been born and structures have failed. There are several improvements that need to be done here especially before fall and winter. I am on the hunt for a small economical pickup. I need to expand fencing for the goats. I need to put new plastic on the greenhouse or if possible expand to a larger size so I can grow more plants next spring. For those of you that know me and/or have visited the homestead you all know I'm passionate about helping people. Now I need your help. My full time job pays for my bills and feed around here but I'm not making any headway on projects. So I need some side jobs if possible. Examples of what I am looking for are handyman jobs(basic electrical, basic plumbing, painting and so forth), yard work(I'm limited on equipment so it must be basic yardwork or tools provided), farm work(fencing, worming, building structures such as a chicken cool or shooting house, trimming goat hooves, etc) and anything else really is a possibility. Again I have a full-time job so it would all have to be worked around that schedule. If you could share this post so others can see it I would appreciate it very much. You can message me here or text 6623410402. Text is best cause I can't always answer but if you call I will return your call as soon as possible. Thanks so much.

I have been guilty numerous times myself and hear the excuses often from others that I can't make a difference. Or my situation is far worse than the successful people. Or it just won't do any good so why bother. But the truth of the matter is that anyone can make a difference. The difference you make may just be in the lives of your children as you teach them more about homesteading, sustainability or life in general. Your difference may affect the neighbors to each side of you. You may even begin to influence your city, county and state. The plan and purpose should be that of good. Everyone has an affect, just like the little mosquito. Make sure your influence is positive.
What are you doing today to make an impact? What are you doing to share wisdom you possess? What skills and or talents are you trying to grow? Take a few minutes today to look at the direction you are going and stop long enough to see the ones on your path. What influence will you have on them.
Have a blessed day and look forward to hearing from each of you soon and meeting if possible.

Good morning friends and family! Crazy weekend around the homestead today as I try to catch up on some projects that need completing. If you or anyone you know need or want any of the following I am trying to downsize a little and/or make room for other projects around here. So up for negotiation are the following:
A pair of ringneck pheasants. Hen is laying now. 15.00 each
12 straight run barnyard mix chicks. 1.50 each.
Pair of grown pot belly pigs, female appears heavily pregnant 75.00 for the pair only.
Thanks so much y'all and I hope u have a blessed weekend.

Please read and share this post! Thanks so much.

I have a tendency to avoid the news programs due to the sheer negative impact of so many stories. Rescently tho I've read articles locally to me of teens involved in kidnapping, shots fired in local restaurants and so much more. It can be a negative experience so often. But while the news may tend to report on the negative side there are many people, organizations, churches, businesses and farms doing great and positive things in peoples lives. I wish I could offer a prize of some kind to the individuals mentioned in this post but can't do that at the moment. I want you to share this post, I want you to mention someone thats being the good in their community. Let's highlight the positive. So invite others to post inspiring stories of people they know making a difference in their community. Thank you and I can't wait to read the stories

I'm not gonna get on a soap box today but I just wanna make sure something is clear. I work super hard around my place to make sure my animals are well taken care and as happy as an animal can be. Had a situation arise and I won't elaborate on it but some animals had been abandoned to die. I have these animals now and will be taking excellent care of them. If for any reason you find yourself in a situation or know of anyone in that situation where they just can't care properly for an animal let me know. Some animals just won't work here but I assure you that I will do my absolute best to either accept them or find a farm to place them on. Times get hard, life circumstances change and such, it doesn't make you a bad person if you can no longer care properly for an animal, but if you allow the animal to suffer then you are wrong. But know that there are people who have dedicated their life to raising and caring for animals, that will gladly take these animals. I am proud to know so many people who raise and care for so many animals as well. Thanks for my little rant. I hope everyone has a great Father's Day.

Been a crazy few weeks at trim cane homestead and farm. Chicks started hatching yesterday. These are a barnyard mix that I put in. I'm also hatching some marans and olive eggers. It's nice to see more babies around the farm. Hope everyone has been doing great.
