Farm on Wheels

Farm on Wheels Phase II of Mississippi Sustainable Agriculture Network "Farm on Wheels" This idea spread into Phase I of Gaining Ground's "Farm on Wheels" project. You ask how?

Six MSMS students; Daniel Eisler, Robert Glenn, Tyler Crutcher, Ryan Chapman, Sterling Harper, and David Liang; started with the idea of using a bus to convert to vegetable oil for a senior trip. The month trip featured stops cross-country for informational sessions and demonstrations along with promoting Phase II and Gaining Ground. The students have decided to name themselves "The G:6" = "The Gr

een 6" the six stands for the six G words - Great Greasy Green Garden Giddy-up Gang - which came before the realization there are six of them. To continue on with Phase II we NEED YOUR HELP. Generous donations can help us complete the project and get on the road to schools across Mississippi! Phase II includes making the inside a garden with compost and worm bins along with trees and chickens. Major changes to the physical state of the bus will be a bookshelf / teller station, a retractable awning for shade or cover from rain during classes and information sessions, and a greenhouse roof. Phase II is a compilation of touring Mississippi and the South to visit schools and organization to teach about sustainable energy, growing your own food, and other learning components. But again this cannot be done without YOU so please donate or volunteer today.
