Our Farm - Lost Prairie Farm is a family-owned cattle farm near Starkville, Mississippi. Located along the western edge of the Black Prairie, we are blessed with fertile prairie soils and many native grasses. We have gentle rolling topography, plenty of shade in each pasture, and a combination of water troughs and ponds throughout. British Whites have been a recognized breed for over 400 years and are prized for their flavorful, quality beef. British Whites are smart, inquisitive, have a very docile temperament and truly are a joy to raise. Our cattle rotationally graze a variety of grasses all year long, including fescue, Bermuda, dallisgrass, crab grass, vetch, native grasses, and several types of clover. We strive to always provide a low stress environment. After all, happy cattle taste the best! Our Story - Patrick and Sheri Gibson come from a long line of farming and ranching families. We didn’t aspire to have our own farm, but the opportunity to raise two children on a cattle farm with all the unique experiences that entail seemed like a natural fit. Since 2014, Sheri has successfully beaten cancer twice. Battling cancer made us realize that our time on Earth is not guaranteed, and that we should not delay positive life experiences for our family. Thus, Lost Praire Farm became a reality in 2016.
