Dear Reese Orchard Customers,
October is here and people have been calling and messaging me about our persimmon crop. Good news this year is we have some. The bad news is it a fraction of what have had in the past thanks to a number of factors. the biggest being last year's hard freeze in the spring which killed several trees and damaged and weakened many others.
On a good year I allow customers to pick as much as they want, but this season's meager crop is requiring that we limit customers to a single one gallon bucket (6-7 lbs) of persimmons to try to spread the supply around to our many customers. That is hopefully enough to make it worth driving out for if you are in the area. However, if you are coming from out of town, driving a few hours then I am not sure if it will be worth your time and trouble. You will need to make that decision for yourself.
We will be open today, Friday October 4 from 3-6:30, all day Saturday, October 5 from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm, and depending on how much fruit is left, this Sunday afternoon from 3-6 pm. If there is fruit left for another week, we will be selling by appointment on Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday. Please contact me before driving out on weekdays. I do not have enough fruit this season to keep normal hours of operation during weekdays. Message, call, or email me, and I can give you some time options for you to come out.
Price this season is $2/lb you-pick.
Reminder: we are not a public park, just a small you-pick fruit orchard. Please leave your pets at home.
Thanks!
