Dear Reese Orchard Customers,
Except for a few remnants in tree tops of a few trees all our persimmons are sold.

We are now closed for the season.

Thank you! Hope to see you again in 2026!

Dear Reese Orchard Customers,
We are now sold out of our firm-eating, flat-bottom ,non-astringent Jiro varieties of persimmons. We still have the small, cone-shaped, soft-eating astringent Saijo persimmons to pick, and will be open from this Saturday, Oct 11 from 9:30 until 6:30 or until all fruit is sold. If you like the very sweet soft-eating Saijos this may be your last chance to get some this season! Saijos cannot be eaten firm, but they can be picked firm and will ripen in a few days. There are also a lot of ripe Saijos ready to pick now so bring egg cartons or a small box for harvesting those so they won't squash each other in a bag. Price is still $2.00/lb you-pick.

Dear Reese Orchard Customers,

October is here and people have been calling and messaging me about our persimmon crop. Good news this year is we have some. The bad news is it a fraction of what have had in the past thanks to a number of factors. the biggest being last year's hard freeze in the spring which killed several trees and damaged and weakened many others.

On a good year I allow customers to pick as much as they want, but this season's meager crop is requiring that we limit customers to a single one gallon bucket (6-7 lbs) of persimmons to try to spread the supply around to our many customers. That is hopefully enough to make it worth driving out for if you are in the area. However, if you are coming from out of town, driving a few hours then I am not sure if it will be worth your time and trouble. You will need to make that decision for yourself.

We will be open today, Friday October 4 from 3-6:30, all day Saturday, October 5 from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm, and depending on how much fruit is left, this Sunday afternoon from 3-6 pm. If there is fruit left for another week, we will be selling by appointment on Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday. Please contact me before driving out on weekdays. I do not have enough fruit this season to keep normal hours of operation during weekdays. Message, call, or email me, and I can give you some time options for you to come out.
Price this season is $2/lb you-pick.

Reminder: we are not a public park, just a small you-pick fruit orchard. Please leave your pets at home.

Thanks!

Dear Reese Orchard Customers,

October is here which usually marks the beginning of persimmon season. Unfortunately this year we have no persimmons to sell due to freeze damage we had back in the spring when the trees were just coming out. Although a big disappointment for our many persimmon customers, we are reminded of and grateful for how many good years we have had in the past. We can only be hopeful for better seasons to come!

We still have some bronze muscadines for at least another week if interested. Price is $2/lb you-pick. Small orders of pre-picked fruit are available for older seniors and those who are disabled if ordered in advance.

Dear Reese Orchard Customers,

Muscadine season in here and fruit is ready for picking. Starting Sept 5 we will be open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays (three days a week) for you-pick muscadines for the duration of the season which may last into the first week or so of October. Orchard hours are from 9am -12 noon, and reopen from 3 – 6:30pm. Price this season is $2/lb you-pick. Small orders of pre-picked fruit are available for the disabled and older seniors by ordering in advance.

Unfortunately our two main fruits, pears and persimmons experienced crop failure this season due to spring freezes so when muscadine season ends our fruit season will be over for this year.

Hope to see you this September!

David Reese
