This is one of my MIL's go-to restaurants on Staten Island, and for good reason. ZaRa is a traditional Turkish restaurant, serving up fresh, hearty dishes with a warm and welcoming ambiance, at multiple locations throughout Staten Island. I could especially taste the quality and freshness in their tzatziki sauce which was light yet creamy and slightly tangy. Their falafel was perfectly cooked, being crunchy on the outside yet soft and comforting on the inside. Anyone who knows me knows I like a strong cup of coffee so of course I had to finish off the meal with a Turkish coffee. It may seem small but it packs a punch!

I haven't been to Smashburger in a while and was just thinking about their brisket burger. It looks like it's no longer on the menu but it was so good while it lasted. This is actually the smoked bacon brisket burger though IIRC I asked for it without bacon because I thought the bacon would make it too heavy. It was perfect without the bacon. It really allowed the brisket to shine on its own. It was smoky, juicy, and flavorful and those crispy charred edges are to die for!

This was my first time trying steak tartare. I couldn't believe I could just get it delivered off Uber Eats AND from a place in Jackson Heights??! NYC is really amazing 😅
I've ordered a steak cooked rare before and thought it was kinda tough so I was pleasantly surprised at how tender this steak tartare was, and the slight iron flavor was interesting.

To scoop or not to scoop, that is the question. I'm normally not a scoop girly but I do love a creamy, generously stuffed bagel which is one of the purposes of having it scooped. Sure you get less bagel but you get more filling and it's crispier when toasted though it does sit on my conscience a bit that the scooped part is potentially going to waste. That being said, it still had that slight chewiness that lets you know it was made with NYC tap water which is just *chef's kiss*
🌈Rainbow Bagel w/ Oreo CC:
Cookies n cream is one of my favorite flavors for anything, a classic! The bagel didn't have much of a flavor. If you close your eyes it pretty much tastes like a plain bagel, thought I guess less salty but it's a subtle difference
♓ Nova Special on a whole wheat everything bagel:
The lox was so smooth and didn't have an overwhelming artificial smoky flavor but it wasn't as fatty as I would've liked. It came with tomatoes, capers, and plain cream cheese. It had a good ratio of lox to cream cheese.
