Heavy Handed is on. Schwarzbier, 5%, built with traditional German ingredients and the first b**r we ever put in our foeders.

Smooth with a mild roast, some dark fruit and a little charred oak at the end. Looks heavy, drinks easy.

95 from Craft B**r & Brewing and bronze at the New York State Craft Brewers Competition.

We spent Saturday driving stichfass around the city to three different spots. As Is NYC , Brouwerij Lane and B**r Street South

Thank you to all three of them for making this Oktoberfest season a great one, and for handing this tradition to everybody who drinks at their bars. Tapped by hand, no CO2, exactly how it’s supposed to be done.

If you’re near any of them, all three of these spots are worth checking out.

Puddle Jumper earned its name 💦

Once on the drive back from upstate with a truck full of wet hops. Then again on the brewery floor, which is never dry on a brew day.

6.5% wet hop pale ale, New York State hops in the kettle the same day they were picked. Dry and juicy, pine, lemon, resin.
On draft and in cans now @ the taproom and everywhere you find Kills Boro.

Faßfest yesterday, and a nor’easter didn’t stop a thing.

Thank you to Nürnberger Bierhaus for the food and to Bavarian Kings for playing all afternoon, and thank you to everybody who came out in that weather to eat, drink, watch nine casks get tapped by hand and hang with us. This is the tradition we love and it’s a whole lot better with a full room.

If you’re running Tunnel to Towers on Sunday, bring your bib over afterward and you’ll get 25% off at the door.

Faßfest runs 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. that same day, with nine casks tapped by hand, The Bavarian Kings playing all afternoon, food coming around the whole session and a stein you take home.
