I wrote out this longgggg post informing y'all about why we have made the decision to close up the stand for the season... but when I went to share it I had second thoughts on if anyone really cared much about it. After a few comments from some sweet customers of ours - I want to be very clear on the state and future of this farm.

So for those of you who care to hear why - just keep reading πŸ‘‡

I just want to be transparent with y'all. πŸ™
We started this year off strong. We spent all winter planning, organizing, and preparing our beds for the season. We started seeds back in late January, planted them out, pruned, weeded, and cared for them every step of the way. Between then and now, we've weathered late freezes, snow, drought, heavy rain and winds, and relentless heat and humidity. There's so much work that happens long before a single vegetable ever makes it to the farmstand table. It takes months of planning, long days in uncomfortable weather, and constant care to grow food. πŸ₯•

Now we're at what should be the peak of our season, and if I'm being honest... things feel a little wild. Flowers have been blown over by the wind, pruning has fallen behind, the humidity has invited in fungal diseases, and the weeds seem to grow faster than we can keep up with.

Between our wedding in May and finding out that we're expecting our first baby shortly there after, life has been full in the very best ways but also incredibly overwhelming. This first trimester has left me physically and mentally exausted. What used to come naturally now feels like a struggle just to roll out of bed. Let alone spend a lot of time out in Georgia's july heat for very long. The weeds don't stop growing. The plants still need watering, pruning, harvesting, and constant attention. 🌱

Some days I look around and feel like I've failed because things aren't where I envisioned they'd be this year. Christian works full-time as an arborist (so if you need any tree work, give us a call 🀣), and somehow still comes home after spending all day working outside to help on the farm. I truly couldn't ask for a better partner. He works incredibly hard, and I'm so grateful for everything he does to help keep this dream alive.

BUT despite all of that... ☝️
When I see y'all continue to show up for us anyway, my perspective changes.
Whether the farmstand table is overflowing or looking a little sparse, y'all still come. You still choose to support us. You encourage us, leave kind words, and remind us why we started this in the first place. Honestly, that's the fuel that keeps us going on the hard days.

This farmstand is nowhere near the vision we ultimately have for it, but we're COMMITTED to building something beautiful. One day at a time. It may not happen as quickly as we imagined, but we'll keep showing up, learning, and working toward that dream. πŸ’

With that being said, I think we have made the decision to take a step back for a few months and try to get things back on track.. We only want to offer y'all the very best- and right now we are seldom producing it with the state the beds are in. It's been an extremely hard decision but I think its what's best for now. I will still offer eggs, and little things here and there since i still have some plants producing but it will be limited and not on our normal schedule.

Thank you for giving us grace in this season of life. Thank you for your patience, your encouragement, and for believing in this little farm, even when it doesn't look picture-perfect.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank y'all. Every purchase, every kind word, every prayer, and every bit of support means more than you'll ever know. We truly couldn't do it without you. ❀️

Pine boletes are wild mushrooms commonly found growing near pine trees, where they form a beneficial relationship with the tree roots. Instead of having gills underneath their caps, they have tiny pores that release their spores. πŸ„

They’re an important part of the forest ecosystem, helping trees access nutrients while breaking down organic matter in the soil! 🌲
