Winemaking Wednesday — Harvest 2026 Edition

When life gives you strawberries… make w**e.

With Harvest 2026 in full swing, here’s a glimpse at one of the many cellar projects we’ve got going on. This one started with frozen Virginia strawberries, a little mashing, and a whole lot of strawberry juice—the not-so-secret ingredient behind a new strawberry w**e in the works.

From frozen Virginia strawberries ➡️ to mashed fruit ➡️ to fermentation… this strawberry w**e is officially underway. 🍓🍷

It’s bright. It’s fruity. It smells ridiculously good.

And yes… we’re already thinking about the first pour. 😏

🐦🍷 TWISTED TUESDAY: THERE'S AN OSTRICH IN THE VINEYARD… 🍷🐦

Okay, maybe two ostriches. 😂

Birkin and Kelly are two of the resident personalities here at Twisted Pines, and they definitely add a little extra character to the farm.

Fun fact: Ostriches have the largest eyes of any land animal, measuring around 2 inches across—about the size of a billiard ball! 👀

Which means Birkin and Kelly can see EVERYTHING happening around the farm.

And trust us… they act like it.

They're always watching.
Always supervising.
And we're pretty sure they've noticed every bottle of w**e we've poured. 🍷

Of course, they're not the only ones keeping an eye on things.

Then there's Spike. 🐐

Spike doesn't need giant eyes to know what's going on. He simply uses those long legs to take himself wherever he wants to go…

Which is primarily the feed room. 🍪

So, as far as we can tell, the management structure at Twisted Pines is:

🐦 Birkin & Kelly: Executive Supervisors
🐐 Spike: Owner, CEO & Head of Everything
🍇 The grapes: Just trying to grow in peace
🍷 The humans: Pouring the w**e and taking orders

Honestly, with management like this, we're just happy to have a job. 😂

That's life at Twisted Pines Farm & Vineyard—where the w**e is good, the animals have opinions, and apparently the animals are in charge. 🍷🐦🐐

🍷 Have a Twisted Labor Day 🍇

Labor Day is supposed to be about taking a break from work…

We clearly misunderstood the assignment. 😂

While everyone else is firing up the grill and enjoying the long weekend, we're busy destemming and crushing freshly harvested Petit Manseng, caring for animals, and wondering what Spike is running the farm into today. 🐐

So here's to the people who keep the farms growing, the w**e flowing, and the good times going.

Work hard. Sip responsibly. Take the day off as your able.

And if you happen to spend your Labor Day popping a cork on some Twisted Pines Vineyard w**e?

We won't consider that work. 🍷😉

We're currently experiencing the Great Feather Explosion of 2026. 🪶💥 Molting season is in full swing, which means feathers are EVERYWHERE — in the pasture, around the barn, floating through the air, and somehow in places that make absolutely no sense. Consider it nature’s version of confetti!

To help reduce the chaos, a few of our feathered friends are looking for new pastures, ponds, and farms to call home!

This is it... the calm before the storm. Rinsed are the macrobins that will soon be filled with thousands of grape bunches. Scrubbed is the destemmer that will separate the grapes from the stems. We're mere hours from processing the first harvested varietal of the Twisted Pines Vineyard 2026 vintage.
