Dear Nana’s Inspirations members & family,
Thank you for allowing me to cook for you and hopefully eliminate just a little stress from your life. After a little more than three years into our business, I am excited to say we have over 1000 members and we are beginning to settle into a nice flow of markets and product line. We strive to always have in stock our BBQ sauces, spice blends, pet treats, and sausages – we use these items regularly too! We, also, have many items that can be produced on a special-order basis, including our breads, desserts, some salads, and our seasonally available Complete Holiday Meal, Almond Toffee, and Pumpkin Muffins. More details on these items can be found at our website, nanasinspirations.com (https://nanasinspirations.com/)
Our meals will remain available; however, they will be shifting to an order basis. Orders can be placed ANYTIME by phone or text, 503-881-6147, or email, [email protected] or through the website. As I receive interest from a member for a meal, I will gather other orders to fill at least 12 meals (12 is ½ a full recipe) then cook and package the meals for delivery or pick up. Please be sure to like and follow us on facebook.com/NanasInspirations (http://www.facebook.com/NanasInspirations/) , so you know when meal prep is happening and can stock up your freezer. Reply with a note of which meals you prefer, so that I can notify you when your favorites are headed to production. This will help us prepare the meals and get them to you as freshly frozen as possible. Currently I have requests for Beef & Broccoli, Curry Chicken, Garlic Pork Bites, and Sweet & Sour Pork and am looking to add some more requests to schedule production …. Anyone interested? (The other 2 meals not listed/requested now are SW Chicken and Tomatina Beef)
With the impending holidays just around the corner, I want you to be aware of our Complete Holiday Meal (feeds 4-6 adults) – gluten free and made by special order allowing us to avoid many other allergens as well. Inquire today. We also have special order breads, pumpkin muffins, salads, luscious desserts, and toffee (a great gift item). Upcoming events are the Aumsville Holiday Market @ Aumsville Elementary Fri Nov 30 – Sun Dec 1, and the Stayton Holiday Craft Bazaar at Stayton Middle School on Saturday Dec 7 and, kicking off the new year, First Taste Oregon on Friday Jan 24 – Sat Jan 25 @ Jackman Long Building, State Fairgrounds, Salem. These are our scheduled events through January at this point, there may be others as we are looking into some options. Check our Market Schedule & Specials (https://nanasinspirations.com/marketschdule-%26-specials) page on the website for our complete market schedule – these get posted as soon as they are confirmed.
Information to share: Protein is our friend, and many don’t get enough to support their body’s daily need. Adequate protein is required to support our muscles and bones. USDA recommends 5 ½ ounces of meat & proteins per day (equates to less than 40 grams of protein), however this is the minimum daily requirements. Depending on our age, activity level and overall health, 5 ½ ounces of protein is much less than the actual need of our bodies. In order to properly support our muscles, a more accurate recommended daily intake (RDI) is 0.35 grams per pound of body weight minimum. Therefore a 165-pound person should consume a minimum average of 60 grams of protein per day. ¹ As we age, we actually require more protein – not less. An adult 50 years of age, or older, should increase that RDI to 0.45 grams per pound of body weight per day, equating to 75 grams per day. If we are not adequately supporting our muscles and bones with sufficient protein, we, and our bones, become weaker and weaker leading to falls resulting in broken bones and hips. Protect your muscles, bones and overall health by making sure you are eating plenty of protein to support your needs. An easy way to do this is with a tracking ap such as Cronometer (https://cronometer.com/) , which can be used on your smart phone, laptop, and computer, all synced together under one account.
