Doing some breeding season prep today! Hoof trims, selenium, and we’ll be drawing blood for our 2026 biosecurity testing on Sunday.

I only made it through 8 today so I’ll be continuing to work through the herd this weekend 😂

Trying something new for the girls!! We usually offer protein tubs throughout the year but they’re sooo messy and the kids climb all up in them 🫠
I saw the Kalmbach protein block recommended and decided to give it a try! The girls approve 😂 not sticky at all and instead of being rock hard like a regular mineral block it’s softer and kind of crumbly!

I hybrid raise 90% of the time but when they’re being retained and I’m not on test this year anyways, who cares right 😂

Malibu and Hawks gorgeous (and huge!) keeper doeling from this year 😍
She is just now being weaned to give her dam a break before breeding season starts in a couple of months.

Malibu milks heavy and is very dairy (and also loves having triplets), so she tends to stay on the leaner side. Not thin, just not as chunky as I like my does to be.
She will likely be getting 2028 off since I’ve retained 2 daughters and plan to retain a third next year ❤️

Both this doeling pictured and Malibus doe from last year (who was a FF this year) will freshen next year as well!! I’m pretty excited to see how they do on milk test 😍

A big thank you to the Roseburg Dairy Goat Association and Tami at Morning Moon Oberhasli for hosting and contributing to the raffle and making it possible for me to bring this doeling home!!

More pictures to come once she’s picked up but we are so excited. Oberhasli are one of my favorite breeds and Morning Moon has some absolutely gorgeous animals. I’m over the moon!
NDs may be my main project but you will definitely see more of this doeling. And she will definitely be hitting the show ring 😍

With the announcement of Hawk leaving, I realized I never introduced our new senior buck!

This boy is co-owned by Sasha at Voyez Micro Farm and will be coming home this summer. A big thank you to Kelly at Got Spotted Acres for the opportunity to bring this boy home!!

TUA Farms BF Exotic Illusion B* aka Ducati

Ducati’s dam is ELITE SG TUA Farms SH Smoke And Mirrors 2*M, an absolutely gorgeous doe who appraised at +EEE89 in 2021 and peaked at 7lbs on test that same year. And peaking at 7.4lbs the previous year! His sire is Ilenesrascals SC Beneficio, whose full sisters reside at IlenesRascals farm and are sporting some gorgeous capacious udders!!

We plan to use Ducati pretty heavily this year 🫣 Did I mention he’s moonspotted and blue eyed?

Well..
I did a thing 😬

Hawk will be leaving for his new home in August. With our 2 junior bucks to use and our new senior buck we’re bringing home this summer (plus the junior buck replacing Remi coming here in the spring) I knew I needed to make space in the buck pen. Considering that he’s already 5, I really wanted to send him to a new herd this year so someone could get another good few years of breeding out of him.
We played around with the idea of getting him collected first but he’s a bit of a lazy breeder, so I’m not sure that would’ve been a realistic choice. He gets the job done. Just after an hour of foreplay 😂

I’m sad but I love my daughters from him and he’s definitely made his mark here! He’s also staying close by which is fun.

3rd cutting 3 string alfalfa for sale. Average 110 #
Leafy and soft stemmed. The goats LOVE it. We use it in our creep feeder for the goat kids and they’re crazy for it too. Outside is sun bleached but it’s been stored and dry.
