It seems that the stores are out of yeast and flour and I have some extra, so If anyone needs yeast or bread flour, starting tomorrow I will have some available at The Bakery, 2432 Downhill Drive unit F... 5 pound bags of unbleached bread flour for $4, and 1 ounce bags of instant yeast (the same as 4 packets from the store) for $3. The bread flour is higher protein than all purpose flour, so it wouldn't be great for cakes or cookies, but great for bread.

I'll also try to make extra sourdough starter if people want to bring a small jar or something like an 8 or 16 ounce container to get some of that to experiment with.

Baker needed, year 'round, full time. One of my folks has to go back home to Nebraska, so I have an opening coming up. You can start immediately for training. You need to be able to show up for work when scheduled, lift 50 pounds, and be able to follow formulas mixing, shaping, and baking bread and pastries. Kitchen experience is a plus, as far as sanitation best practices is concerned, but it is nothing like working in a restaurant. Experience in a bakery would be good, but not necessary. It is more important for me to find someone who will work well with the crew and fit in. This job is Saturday through Wednesday, 8 to 10 hours per day; typically 8:00 AM to around 5:00 PM.
