Today is NPIP- AI testing day!
We like to have a work table set up for our tester and all of our birds caught for them prior to them getting here. It helps testing go a lot smoother & definitely quicker!
AI testing is done every 6 months and PT testing is annually! Send me a DM with any questions 😊

These are 2 of our unique projects we’ve been working on in addition to traditional Olive Eggers. We have what we call “Ocean Eggers” who are bred to lay lots of pale blue eggs and are essentially Easter Eggers. And Ermine Olive Eggers who will lay guaranteed green eggs. Both are very striking chicks. And we can’t wait to watch them grow up! breeder

This is Taylor and she turned 1️⃣5️⃣ this week! And I’ve put off posting it because this will probably be her last birthday and it’s been hard coming to that realization. She has been my constant for 15 years and has raised all of my children and been there for me through some tuff times. I will miss this girl for sure when she’s gone.

Blue Laced Red Wyndottes

These are by far my favorite breed, I had these long before I was ever a “breeder”. My first BLRW was actually from the hatchery in 2019 and she (June) is what made me fall in LOVE with this breed and comparing the two she was definitely subpar compared to this group I have now. June sadly passed away this month after turning 7 years old. I think she had a good life span considering she has survived a flood of 5 feet at our old house where she and her flock mates had to be rescued with a canoe and 2 major hurricanes on our current farm. She definitely was a great girl and because of her we began our farm 3 1/2 years ago.

BLRW come in 3 colors: Blue, Black & Splash. They are some of the calmest birds we have on our farm and are very prolific layers of light tan eggs. They are definitely gentle giants!

Today I’m doing a quick coop refresh day for 6 of our breeder pens. We try to refresh our pens monthly but I’ve been behind on these and sadly the last refresh they had was February/ March. So let’s get it done today! How often do you refresh your pens? #
