Check out our revamped website! I’ve been working on giving it a fresh new look while also catching up on updating information and photos.

Our 2027 kidding schedule is now live, with four does already bred (unconfirmed). I’m still working out the when and who for breeding the juniors so that part is still a bit TBD.

Linear Appraisal 2026: Yesterday, we participated in our 3rd LA session. This time we only had first fresheners, but this one was especially exciting because every doe we presented was homebred.

A huge thank you to my friend Donna Alley for helping make the day a success and for bringing over some of her beautiful goats. Our appraiser spent so much time carefully evaluating each goat and went above and beyond in providing us with so much educational information. I learned so much!

I'm genuinely thrilled with where these girls are as first fresheners and with the baby steps we're making in our breeding program.

**2-Year-Old First Fresheners**
• Butter - GGEG 84 (37 FUA / 34 RUH / 35 RUA)
• Honey - GVVV 85 (36 FUA / 36 RUH / 30 RUA)

**Yearling First Fresheners**
• Sriracha - GGVG 82 - our best rear legs
• Kimchi - VGVG 83 - scored high in dairyness for her age

**Bucks**
• India Blue GF King David (2YO) - VEV 87 - complimented as the most dairy goat presented and scored an E for front legs

And then there is Wasabi. ❤️

Wasabi is a 2-year-old first freshener who has been dealing with a chronic shoulder injury. Unfortunately, it has taken a toll on some aspects of her body, so we elected to have her coded as a 99, which means we were able to receive linear scores on traits that aren't impacted by her injury, but not a final score. The appraiser said Wasabi had our best udder and also scored her very strongly for dairyness.

That was both validating and incredibly bittersweet. She is a goat I have always believed is the best I've produced so far and hearing an appraiser confirm what I've seen in her is incredibly meaningful. At the same time, I don't know if she'll ever be able to be bred again, or even how much longer we'll have her with us.

There is still so much to improve, but seeing these homebred first fresheners and the direction our program is heading makes me really excited for the future. We failed to take any photos so here's a few taken of the does at last month's show.

Dan's been working hard to renovate an old structure on the farm to create a place for a large amount of hay storage. He added walls and I leveled the dirt floor. Today, we filled it with beautiful hay to hopefully get us into the spring.

When I put a buck and doe together, I usually snap a photo so I can remember who I paired and when. I didn't realize until flipping through photos later that there was a curious bystander trying to process what was going on 😂

I've been using hanging hay feeders for the doelings, but the Lespedeza leafy goodness falls right out and once it touches the ground of course it's untouchable. So now that the kids are (hopefully) too large to fit through a cattle panel, I built them a fence line feeder. I'm sure by tomorrow they'll show me that I didn't think this through in some way 😅

Miracle realized tonight that there are windows in the milk room and went into nosey mode. 😂

She’s the last kid on the bottle and comes in every night for it. While I clean, she checks the grain at every milk stand for quality assurance.

We had such a wonderful time at the DGSV Show this past weekend! This is such an amazing show. The show committee does such a great job of keeping everything running smoothly while making everyone feel welcome.

The Virginia Horse Center is such a beautiful venue, and our goats were incredibly relaxed and comfortable there. There were so many beautiful and correct does in the rings, and I am so thrilled with how well our girls did!

Wings & Caprines Chocolatini went Grand Champion and Best in Show today at the DGSV show under Kyle Miller.

This is a doeling I've failed to introduce since bringing her home in May. This wasn't a planned addition, I just happened to be chatting with her breeder Josie and well one thing lead to another 😅 This is the sweetest kid, but I've failed to introduce her because she's spoiled rotten and hasn't wanted to set up for a photo that showed off her true quality. Today, she walked in the ring, set up and stood like a statue. Despite being in the youngest junior class she went Grand and then I was blown away when she went on to go BIS (our first BIS!)
