Game changer! As a hobby beekeeper, I have found that the available oxalic acid vaporizers for mite control are either out of the price range for my small scale apiary or just crappy. I’ve had wires melt, pipes clog repeatedly and chard a hive. Not to mention carting a battery on a dolly in the heat is 🔥 and the time it takes to treat a few hives is rediculous. After 49,000 bees stopped at more than 115 million flowers, 5 gallons of beautiful dark amber honey was collected. The sunshine will be bottled within the week.

I snagged honey from three of four hives. The drought really impacted their ability to find nectar. Odd how one hive figured it out and produced 17 of the 35 frames🤷‍♀️. We left plenty for their storage. Tomorrow we will spin it and see how many gallons they made for the year. It doesn’t get any fresher than this…

My consolation ….. HEALTHY hives will split/reproduce (even if the beekeeper has made attempts at prevention.) Introducing my newest helper…. Pete Catlin, who can hold a ladder while bees are falling on his head with no worries and a smile!!!

Never underestimate the gift of community. Yesterday was a win, win. Person County beekeepers helped me with spring swarm management and new beekeepers made mini nucs to start their beekeeping journey! Three beautiful queens have new homes and Catlin Honey bee hives are busy making new queens and 2026 honey!
