You probably had no idea ... that Stephenville, Texas is the home base of the number one traveling “Ag-utainment” company in the country
—Great American Entertainment Co— and its educational, hands-on attractions. It was founded in 1983 by David and Dianne Linderman and from that first year, the company has been number one of its kind. Their quest is to make sure that every man, woman and child ha
s the opportunity to realize how important agriculture is, and to keep the culture of animals and farms alive and thriving. David and Dianne started a traveling Petting Farm that they took to fairs all across the country to allow the young to the young at heart to have the opportunity to get up close and personal with every kind of farm animal, and even some not-so-farm animals such as llamas, wallabies, deer, potbellied pigs, mini donkeys, mini horses and much more. It has become one of the most-visited attractions at any fair, rodeo or event and is one of twelve incredible attractions that Great American Entertainment Company brings to venues all across America. The most interesting part of the story is, that along the way, David and Dianne worked with troubled teenagers using hard work and animals as therapy. Not only did it work for kids to be responsible for living creatures, but they learned a work ethic that saved their own lives. Ten of them are now partners of this incredible company and are raising their kids in this wonderful environment. Six years ago, David and Dianne Linderman, along with their 10 business partners, made the decision to move their company and their families from Oregon to beautiful Stephenville, Texas. Dianne found Stephenville by unfolding a large Texas map, closing her eyes, and asking God to pick the place where they should move. With her finger pointed, she lowered it to the map where it landed on Stephenville...
During of the pandemic, we were grounded at home on our 50-acre —Great American Lone Star Ranch— here in Stephenville, Texas (and loved every minute of it), but we had to pivot to new ideas and events to support our staff and feed our petting farm animals and ponies. We launched several very successful ventures and survived because of the patronage of our incredible community. Dianne’s Ranch Diner is temporarily closed due to the staffing shortage. Our highly trained Ranch Girls are back out on the road with our Great American Entertainment Company as we continue working with all our amazing fairs, festivals, and rodeos. We are in the planning stages of some future events and programs and are looking forward to seeing all of you back here soon!
