We have a lot of new followers, so we wanted to take a minute to reintroduce ourselves.

Hard Way Land & Livestock was founded in 2003 by the late Phillip Nivens and is headquartered in Bluff Dale, Texas. What began as an operation focused on raising F1 replacement heifers and cutting horses has grown into a ranching enterprise spanning more than 25,000 owned and leased acres across Montague, Erath, Hood, Eastland, and Tom Green Counties.

Following Phillip's passing in 2011, the ranch has been operated by his sons-in-law, Chad Decker and Justin Culberson, alongside their families. Today, Hard Way runs approximately 600 head of commercial cattle utilizing registered Angus bulls from Barnett Angus Ranch.

The horse division focuses on producing, training, and showing ranch, rope, and bucking horses. By blending proven foundation bloodlines with modern performance genetics, we strive to raise athletic, good-minded horses built to stay sound, work hard, and perform at a high level. From futurity rope horses to the next generation of bucking stock, our goal is to produce horses that excel at their job.

At the end of the day, Hard Way Land & Livestock remains committed to preserving the western way of life while carrying on the values, work ethic, and ranching heritage the operation was built on.
