Photo dump of all this years babies. We added two Sebastopol geese, 6 ducks, and four silkies. I really loved my silkies but due to an automatic door malfunction the dog got to them😭 hoping to get a few more soon

Been busy the last couple days. Finally getting back into sourdough baking. On my third loaf in 24hrs trying to find a good “go to” recipe. Also decorated the dishwasher, and I have something special for the fridge too. Once I get it done I’ll share it. Steak and potatoes for dinner last night and now trying to turn a yeast bread recipe to sourdough. Hoping for a better result than the last two.

Brooder all set up for the ducklings. Three out of 8 hatched now, with the other five pipped and zipping. Four more scheduled to hatch next weekend. Kids are so excited

All set for first day of school tomorrow! Zeke and Emma are excited! No, Emma is turning 4 so she isn’t actually doing school, but I set her up so she can do her favorite past time while zeke does. Drawing. Got her three new notebooks and pencils and crayons. Even got Ezra some crayons so he can color in one of our coloring books. Emma came out and screamed at me bc I made her go to bed instead of letting her stay up to draw lol. She was a bit of a nightmare today, apologies to everyone she victimized!

(Yes that is our new coffee table. Yes, they broke it in under two weeks. Yes I will be fixing it when I get the time. Which will probably be in 20y when the kids are all grown lol)

Plant update! My strawberries aren’t producing fruit, but they are making baby plants! See the offshoots? They’ll burrow in the ground to become new strawberry plants.

In the pots are some unexpected tomato plants that came back from the tomatoes I left there last year! They were crowding out my strawberries so I had to move them. So I put some in pots. At first I didn’t think they’d make it, they were so saggy. Look at them now though, bouncing back nicely!

I had blueberries on my bushes….until something ate them before they ripened🥹 otherwise they’re looking good.

I only pictured one apple tree. The only one that’s actually doing really well. You can see by my hand where the bark turns green, that’s all new growth since it was planted! The newest addition got attacked by deer and needs to be straightened out and pray it has enough leaves left to survive. The baby tree, the first one I planted, is still barely more than a long stick in the ground. Hoping that one does some more growing before fall too.

So, at least some of the plants are actually thriving, and I have more than tomatoes this year too. Even though I won’t get fruit from them for a while yet.

Look who’s visiting for the weekend! Meet Becky apple and Bambi……I forget the second name….. from fainting lilly they need to be fed four times a day rn so theyre quite a handful! The kids love feeding and playing with them!

Niece Izzy is only here until Friday to help but we’re so grateful!

I love my anconas! They’re so beautiful!😍😍😍 two went to live with my mom fainting lilly and sadly one got eaten😢😭 but the other one grew so much faster than my ducks left here. I think it’s bc they have a lot more space to roam there in her pasture. Also mine keep getting stuck in the pool😅

Sadly both of my turkeys died 😭😭😭😭😭 turkeys are the hardest animal to keep alive 😫😒
