The endless summer task of loading, hauling, and unloading bales of hay is always fun. This year we've been blessed with a bountiful hay season to keep our cows thriving and happy, and for that, we're very thankful!

Phew! You guys have been keeping us busy, and we love it!

Right now, we are working on baling oats for the ladies. Oats are high in fiber, which provides great feed for our ladies over the winter! Fun fact: pregnant cows are much like humans in gestation. It takes 9 whole months to grow a calf, so we want to make sure the girls are fed quality feed to keep their pregnancy going smoothly. Not only do oats provide a great source of fiber, the cows go crazy over oats!

Fly control is an important part of herd health, so we’re out today spraying down the ladies with some good ole fly repellent. It’s safe for the new little calves and helps prevent fly strike, which is a big win on hot days like these.
