So it's been kinda a rough go since moving to northern Colorado 4 years ago... but it amazes me, that in all of the hard, I can still see the hand of God always on us.
After the greenhouses got ripped open 2 years ago (among so many other things), and the grasshoppers got in before we could replace the plastic, I've not been able to grow flowers because these guys get them before I can use them. The battle has been horrendous. This year looked like it was going to be much of the same, except we got a late freeze.... which killed most of the hoppers!!!
I have been working hard to steward what God has given us and after all these set backs I did not order gladiolus or dahlias...even though they are my favorite focal flowers to use. Now mind you we are still learning about growing in a greenhouse but I tried to overwinter both of these in ground in previous years to only have them be mush. I said in my prayer time...God you will have to supply because I'm not buying this year. We determined to not spend anything more in growing this business until funds came in more readily. I have set what I need to see before buying anything else and I'm sticking to it...even if it means I don't have focals.
But God...do you see those green spears?? I have gladiolus coming up everywhere!! I have dahlias coming back!! How...it didn't work the last few years I've tried?? It worked because my God is stretching my faith! It was a surrender of any expectations and the trust that God will supply and then seeing how he did. He is doing it right before my very eyes! Guys...the relationship that is tendered in the sighs, tears, frustrations, and fears... that's the real stuff. I understand if you think I believe in a fairy tale... but I walked away from religion and any kind of relationship with a higher power, to humbly return because I was the one in 99 that he sought after. He chased and called and has shown himself greater than any arguments that people could throw at me! He is mine and I am his... there's nothing anyone can say that will disprove the reality nor the love he has shown me. Take a deep breath, close your eyes, be still...and pray. He might not answer as you would expect but there's always an answer.
Do you see those tiny green blades?? That is my faith yet again reinforced with his great love and care. I can't wait to see what he does... especially in spite of my battle to stay still. Be still guys...know that he is God. I don't need all the answers because I have his constant gentle reassurance. Have faith!! I'm praying for you too.
Meanwhile I can't wait to show you what he does in this greenhouse this season ♥️
Ghhhhaaaa I have dahlias and gladiolus and a very high chance of winning the grasshoppers battle ;)
Won't you join us and see the unfolding? We'd love to have you!
