AllTech Helps: Why Your Furnace Keeps Turning Off
If your furnace turns on, shuts off shortly after, and keeps repeating the cycle, itโs called short cycling. In this video, Jason walks through a few common things to check, starting with your air filter and overall airflow. Restricted airflow from dirty filters, closed registers, or improperly set dampers can cause the furnace to overheat and shut down for safety.
Addressing these simple issues early can help protect your system and keep it running smoothly.

AllTech Helps: How Snow & Ice Can Damage Your Heat Pumpโ๏ธ
Snow and ice can collect around your outdoor heat pump during cold weather, especially near the fan and sides. When airflow is blocked, the system has to work harder, which can impact performance and lead to unnecessary wear or noise.
Keeping the area clear after snowstorms helps your heat pump run smoothly, efficiently, and reliably throughout the winter.

AllTech Helps: Furnace Smell is it Normal or Not?
When your heating system runs for the first time each season, a light dust or burn-off smell is normal as built-up dust clears out. This can happen with both gas and electric systems and usually fades after a few cycles.
If the odor smells like plastic or electrical burning, thatโs not normal. Turn the system off and have it checked to avoid damage or safety issues.
Understanding the difference helps keep your home safe and comfortable.

Tito on the Job: Furnace Component Replacement
Replaced the ignitor, flame sensor, and single run capacitor on an 80% gas furnace. These components are critical for proper ignition, safe flame detection, and reliable motor operation. With new parts installed, the system is operating safely and efficiently.
Preventive repairs help keep the heat on when it matters most.

AllTech Helps: How to Prevent Condensate Pump Failures
Your condensate pump plays a big role year-round. In the summer, it removes moisture from your AC. In the winter, high-efficiency furnaces and humidifiers also drain into this same pump.
Over time, algae and biological buildup can form inside the pump and block the motor if it isnโt cleaned. Thatโs why condensate pumps should be cleaned once to twice a year.
Itโs also important to know where the drain line exits your home. If it runs outside during colder months, it can freeze and cause backups or system shutdowns. Solutions like rerouting the drain or adding heat tape can help prevent winter issues.
Small maintenance steps like this can prevent big problems.

AllTech Helps: Why Drain Line Maintenance Matters
Your HVAC system creates moisture year-round, and that moisture has to drain properly. Over time, dirt and dust that sneak past your air filter can mix with condensation and build up inside your drain lines and traps.
In the summer, this comes from your AC pulling humidity from the air. In the winter, high-efficiency furnaces create condensate through the exhaust process. If those traps and drain lines arenโt cleaned, debris can clog them and lead to backups, leaks, or unexpected system shutdowns.
Flushing and cleaning drain lines and traps at least once a year helps prevent water damage and keeps your system running smoothly through every season.

Nitrogen Leak Search
This video shows a nitrogen leak search being performed to safely pressurize the system and pinpoint where the leak is coming from. Nitrogen testing allows for accurate diagnosis without introducing refrigerant into the system.
At the end of the video, Jason also shows a brief portion of reassembling the unit, ensuring components are properly put back together once everything is complete.

AllTech Helps: Your Furnace Is Warning You โ ๏ธ
If your furnace isnโt producing heat and you notice flashing lights inside the unit, thatโs your system trying to tell you something. Fault codes should never be ignored.
Start with the basics and check your air filter. A dirty filter can cause overheating and trigger safety shutdowns. Next, look for the diagnostic chart on your furnace panel, which explains what each fault code means.
Some codes point to serious issues like overheating or short cycling, which can put extra wear on safety sensors and impact system reliability. If a fault code keeps appearing, itโs best to have it checked by a professional.

AllTech Helps: What & When to Use Emergency Heat
Do you know how your heat pump really heats your home in the winter? ๐ค
In this video, Jason explains the electric heat strips inside your air handler, what theyโre used for, and why your thermostat settings matter.
Using the wrong setting can cause your system to rely only on electric heat, which can seriously increase your energy bill. This is a great tip for homeowners especially if youโre new to a house with a heat pump system.

Jobs with Tito and Josh: Blower Motor Replacement in Progress
This video shows our technicians replacing a blower motor on a Trane air handler. The blower motor is responsible for moving air throughout the system, and when it begins to fail, it can lead to poor airflow, comfort issues, and system shutdowns.
After replacement, the system is tested to ensure proper airflow and reliable operation.
Routine inspections help catch motor issues early and keep your system running smoothly.

Jobs with Bo: Humidistat Installation & Wiring Repair
A new humidistat was installed, but during initial testing, the humidifier did not run. The technician rechecked all wiring and found that the wiring to the humidifier had been cut from its original plug, with previous connections made externally without a proper connector.
This condition was brought to the customerโs attention, and an estimate for a new humidifier was provided due to the improper wiring setup.
The technician then traced and checked the wiring from the gas furnace control board to the humidistat disconnect, corrected the wiring connections, and retested the system.
After repairs, the humidifier is operational and functioning properly at this time.

Why You Should Never Pour Grease Down the Drain๐ซ
In this experiment, we show what really happens when cooking oil goes down the sinkโeven when mixed with dish soap and water.
At first, it looks harmless. But once the grease hits colder pipes, it cools, thickens, and sticks to the pipe walls, slowly building up layer by layer. That buildup is how many serious drain clogs begin.
This is one of the most common causes of household drain blockages, and itโs also one of the easiest mistakes to avoid.
๐ Watch closely to see how a clog actually startsโand why plumbers always recommend keeping grease out of your sink
