A popular question we have received over the past week is how in the world did a firetruck from Ladd, IL end up at your farm in Sterling. The story (there are always stories) goes, our father Joe Reaver had a coworker who owned the 1945 Chevrolet firetruck and offered it to our Dad to purchase. The next weekend Dad and our uncle Bruce trailered it back to the farm and there it sat in the barn since the early 90's. Yes, we got it out now and then (it was made very famous by our niece who had a few senior pictures in front of it), but it has mainly sat in the barn until we (by we, we mean I) had the bright idea to get it out and show the town. You never know what we will pull out next! In the meantime, we hope the community loves our fall backdrops as much as we do, and uses the opportunity to create memories for your own family! We have had a nugget or two already create a few memories, and we can't wait to see who is next!

Two days to go!!

Margo has been busy creating her beautiful stacks of pumpkins! Each one creatively designed with a variable in color and texture.

We have had some questions on our hours. Starting this Saturday, September 12th at 10, pumpkins will be available every day of the week from 9-5 via the honor system as we have always done in the past. These hours will remain until they are all gone. Cash, check or Venmo. The only difference from years past is you will pull into the farm, there will be no pumpkins at the road.

The NEW antique and gift store will be open each week on Friday, Saturday and Sunday or by appointment. The store hours will be 10-4.

The farm store will have the same policy/hours as we have had for 20+ years.

We can't wait to see you!

I can promise you, today after work I did what no other woman in the US did. I got pulled on a 1943 RTU MM magneto by the second Joseph Reaver who owned this tractor, purchased brand new in 1943 by my great grandfather Joseph B. Reaver. For months we tried to convince my Dad to use this special piece of our family history as a photo backdrop. Honestly, I wasn't sure it would happen, and then yesterday he and Patrick pulled into the farm yard tractor in tow. Today we put it in place and tomorrow we will decorate it with the fall decor we all love. Interesting fact, the next owner of this tractor will be Joseph N. Reaver, making 5 generations of Reaver farmers in Sterling, Il.

4 days until we open! We can't wait to see you and show you our beautiful farm. Saturday 10-4, Sunday 10-4.
