One of the best parts for me when we get the honor of providing the florals for you wedding is intentionally looking for the special reminder keepsakes of the day. We go all out constantly thinking of each bride and what is they want to make their day special and unique. My favorite idea is a special token and remembrance for the Mother of the Bride and Groom. That is why I love these vintage tussie mussies. I love rambling around antique shops seeing if I can find any. It is a truly great find if they come with a holder so they can be used as a vase afterwards. They can be used on the wedding day and for years after.

We also LOVE seeing the photos from the professional photographers from weddings we have flowered this year. We are just starting to go through the amazing photos from wedding in June.

The farmers are wilting and the flowers are not loving it either! This week's heat warnings are calling for heat indexes over 100° and in some places higher. It was already 93° at 8:30 this morning. For the safety of everyone, we are canceling U-Pick this week. We appreciate you understanding and look forward to seeing everyone next week.

There are days every summer when the heat and humidity just gets you down. You are tired. Tired of sweating through multiple pairs of clothes a day. Tired of the stench of yourself. Tired of the never ending tasks. You feel defeated by the choice of no herbicides because you feel like the weeds are everywhere.

And then you look out your window as you are cleaning dishes and the world is awash in soft pinks and the sky is beckoning you to come watch the sunset. So you do. And you remember. Why we do what we do. Who it is for. That you are loved and cherished. That you are so lucky to be able to do what we love. And be with people we love.

So we will keep sweating through everything we own because it is so worth it. - even we forgot that it is.

Was it only a month ago I was lamenting we only had 2 hummingbirds!

Not the greatest photo but there are at least 12 hummingbirds at the feeders this morning! I am going through 8 cups a day of food. They are loading up for their long journey.
