We are a worker cooperative of Katie, Barret and Max. And we're proud to currently pay a $15/hr starting wage to non-coop employees of the farm, with most employees making $17/hr at the time of this updated description (9/18/2022).

Crop Spotlight for Market tomorrow - Puntarelle! 🥬🇮🇹
This unique beauty is a type of chicory, a family of Italian bitter greens. The heart features crunchy green sprouts, and the tall leaves look like svelte dandelion greens. The chicory family includes radicchio, endive, frisée, escarole, tardivo and treviso. They are a bold flavor addition to a salad but are best balanced with some sweetness, acid, and fat - like parmesan cheese, slices of citrus, olive oil, white beans, nuts, or dried cherries.

We prepared a head of puntarelle tonight in a salad with white beans, parsley, cucumbers, caramelized Tropea onions and fennel, and tossed with a lemon garlic dressing.

Chicories are more than just a culinary delight, they are full of health benefits, too. They’re packed with fiber and antioxidants like Vitamin C, and their bitter compounds support digestion and liver function.

With a little help from our friends and Katie’s family from the Adirondacks, we are picking up the pace in the fields.

And it’s been rad to see the same uptick happening in CSA signups.

Don’t miss out! There is a waitlist we will draw from if our harvests really start brimming. But who wants to be on a Winter CSA waitlist when there’s all the fresh spinach and carrots you can eat just around the corner!?? 👀👀👀🥕🥕😅

Pickups this year are at Draught Works Brewery, Ten Mile Creek Brewery, The O'Hara Commons & Sustainability Center, Blacksmith Brewing, Bias Brewing, Glacier Brewing Co., and Plowgirl Farm near Creston. The neighborhood cooler sites in Missoula have already reached capacity! 😅😅

We grow winter vegetables in Stevensville. Explore full shares collected weekly, half shares collected every other week, and our separate Bitterroot home-delivery CSA options.
