We wanted to see how our PYO kulfi drinks actually compare to the big names, so we looked up the numbers.

A regular Shake Shack shake: 680 calories, 71g of sugar.

A regular Five Guys shake: 670 calories, 82g of sugar.

A Baskin Robbins shake: 1,020 calories, 99g of sugar.

Our kulfi drinks at no added sugar now has 21g, and you can go all the way up to extra sweet.

We’re not saying bubble tea is health food. It’s a treat, and it should be. We just think you should get to decide how sweet your treat is. Your drink, your sugar level.

Now at every PYO Chai: Astoria, Stewart Manor and soon Hicksville.

A lot of you told us the kulfi drinks were too sweet. We heard you!

We spent weeks testing batch after batch to get it right. Our kulfi drinks went from 43g of sugar down to 21g, and starting today every kulfi drink comes in 5 sugar levels, all the way down to no sugar added. If you love it the way it was, you can still get it that way.

We’re not going to pretend bubble tea is health food. It’s supposed to be a treat. We just think you should be the one deciding how sweet your treat is.

Thank you to everyone who gave us honest feedback. This one’s for you. Let us know which sugar level you’re getting, and follow along for Episode 2.

Now at every PYO Chai: Astoria, Stewart Manor and soon Hicksville!

We asked what would make you come back to PYO Chai, and you told us. We read through hundreds of comments, and these four came up the most:

👉🏽 22% want healthier options and more ways to customize your drink

👉🏽17% want more food

👉🏽16% want more events and community nights

👉🏽15% want your favorite drink to taste the same every time

We heard you on seasonal drinks, better coffee and tea, and promos too. And yes, Hicksville is coming back soon.

For the next 8 weeks we’re going to spend less time telling you PYO Chai is great and more time actually making it better. We’ll post updates every week.

Thank you to everyone who left a comment, good or critical. Keep them coming 👇
