My best advice as I've gone through a few goodbyes these last few weeks:

GROWING OLD IS THE GREATEST PRIVILEGE ANY OF US OUR GIVEN. Do not be scared of wrinkles, lines, aches and pains, Grey hair... embrace all of it. In a culture that tells you young and youth is the only acceptable beauty, I challenge you to defy that and love yourself that way you are. Now if you are into the fountain of youth this is not a knock on you, you do you and enjoy the ride. This is an encouragement yo those who may be looking into the mirror and not living what they see.

See the beauty and be thankful for the journey that so many aren't allowed.

If you've followed Sailor Mercy for awhile you know I've worked in restaurants the last 32 years of my life. Most recently I've been a bartender at my beloved Gordy's Steak House since the day they opened their doors over 20 years ago.

Last night was their last full service night. After leaving the market yesterday I had the honor of working behind the bar one last time.

In between shaking martinis and washing glasses, I was able hug and embrace people I've waited on or worked with for 20 years.

I cried alot.

Im forever grateful for my experience at Gordys.

I learned so much and loved so hard.

Pancakes the size of manholes to celebrate the last day of school, absolutely!!!

Congrats to my 4 babies who all worked hard this year and grew academically, emotionally and most importantly spiritually. I could not be more proud that they all have hearts for Jesus.

How can I now be a mom to a 5th grader, 2 7th graders and a high schooler 😱😱😱, 9th grader.

This is exactly the life I dreamed of 💕

Congrats to all the students who persevered and all the moms and dads who read the emails, did the fundraisers, drove the kids EVERYWHERE, helped with homework, made the lunches, set the alarms, bought the clothes, bought the shoes and then bought more shoes when they out grew the first pair, survived the whining, the missed busses, the lost paperwork, the eye rolling...

Congrats to us all!!!!

Its with a heavy heart and lots of back n forth...

I've decided this year to not collect LILAC and RHUBARB.

This was not an easy decision to make.

We love that our products are unique and community driven, grown locally, its exactly what we want to be known for.

Its just a very expensive thing to make happen, they are extremely labor intensive and no profit margins, and with the new labor policies in place and the cost of fuel being up, its just best for our team to take the year off.

Hopefully next year we can do more Lilac Honey, Lilac lemonade, Rhubarb lemonade and other small batched locally grown products.
