Dear Friends,
Over the past year and a half, we’ve poured our hearts into building The Local Source Market — a place where local food, sustainability, and community could come together under one roof. From connecting with farmers to designing our space, to sharing the Pasture to Plate stories with you, this vision has been alive in us every single day.
After completing a thorough feasibility study and looking closely at today’s economic and political realities, we’ve made the very difficult decision not to open the market in Stillwater at this time.
This was not an easy choice. We believe deeply in the mission of supporting local farmers, makers, and sustainable food systems. But the numbers and conditions we face right now — rising costs, thin margins, and an unstable economic climate — tell us that moving forward would put the entire dream at risk.
👉 What this means:
• The Local Source Market is not going away, but we are pressing pause.
• We will continue to share local producers doing amazing things, and explore other avenues to bring their products to our community.
• This vision has always been community-driven, and I still want your input and involvement. I’m open to your ideas and feedback on how we can keep this mission alive together.
We want to thank each of you who has cheered us on, shared our posts, and offered support along the way. Your excitement and encouragement remind us that this vision is needed. We simply need to wait for a more stable and sustainable time to bring it to life.
This isn’t the end, it’s a pivot point. The Local Source Market remains a dream worth pursuing, and together we’ll find the right way forward.
With gratitude,
Jen & The Local Source Market Team
