N40 Berries

N40 Berries North 40 Berries is a family owned and operated U-Pick blackberry farm. Seasonal hours: Mon 6-8 pm Wed 7-10 am Sat. 7-11 am

N40 Berries began in 2015 with the planting of 800 thornless blackberry seedlings. Those plants will bear fruit this summer! We have four varieties that very in berry size, sweetness, and ripening. Natchez ripens earliest (early June) and has very large berries. Ouachita and Osage ripen a week or two later having slightly smaller berries but are very sweet. Apache ripens last, mid-late June with large, sweet berries.

Great advice!

If you're feeling the Oklahoma heat, your garden is too! πŸ₯΅πŸŒ±

When temperatures climb above 95Β°F, many vegetable crops begin experiencing heat stress. By 104Β°F, photosynthesis can nearly stop altogether. Plants may wilt, curl their leaves, develop brown edges or produce smaller, less flavorful fruits as they struggle to survive our scorching summers.

Help your garden beat the heat with these tips:
- Water early in the morning (before 10 a.m.) to reduce evaporation and disease risk.
- Water deeply and less frequently to encourage stronger root systems.
- Add 2–4 inches of mulch to keep soils cooler and retain moisture.
- Use shade cloth for sensitive crops during the hottest part of the day.
- Avoid fertilizing during extreme heat, as tender new growth is more vulnerable to stress.
- Remember that container plants dry out much faster than in-ground gardens and may need watering twice a day.

Keep an eye on your plants! Temporary daytime wilting can be normal, but if they don't recover overnight, they may need additional attention.

Just like us, our gardens are doing their best to survive another Oklahoma summer. A little extra care now can help keep your plants healthy, productive and thriving all season long.
