April on the farm is BUSY!! We are working on sowing trays of seeds and unpacking some of the started plugs we order. It's a little early to plant outside, but there is much to do to prepare the beds and soil to get ready to plant in May. We will also unpack 1000 dahlia tubers over the next few weeks and divide them before planting. News about our flower subscription, classes and events will be coming soon. Follow along!

Here in Minnesota we don't have anything blooming yet, but here's what we will be doing over the next couple months to get ready for our 12th season growing flowers for you. Right now it's all about sowing seeds indoors under lights to create all the seedlings we will plant outside in May. Follow along to get information about where and when flowers will be available and the launch of our 2026 Flower Subscription and workshops.

The end of flowering came Tues night/Wed morning with temps in the 20s F. The sugar frosting at sunrise is the icing on the cake of summer blooms. Thank you, Mother Nature, for your beauty in all seasons.

The hard frost Tues night/Wed morning was enough to end our 11th season of flowers. The dahlias and zinnias are damaged beyond recognition (thankfully we got the labeling done) and it's time to clean up the farm and put it to bed for the winter. I'm loving the beautiful fall weather to work outside before it gets too cold and wet.

Enjoy the photos of the icy blooms at dawn yesterday - magical! Thank you for following along this season and for supporting local flowers.

The farm will be open Sunday, October 5 from 1-5 pm for the last sale of the season. Come enjoy the unusually warm fall weather to wander, cut your own flowers or the stem bar option. Lots of flowers to make a bouquet: dahlias, snapdragons, gomphrena, zinnias, hydrangea, grasses and more. Time to put the 11th season of Arcola Trail Flower Farm to bed since we might get our first frost next week. Thanks to all our customers, supporters, volunteers, and Mother Nature for a beautiful season of fresh, local flowers! See you Sunday🧡

The farm will be open on Sunday, October 5th from 1-5 p.m. for the last time this season. I hope you can join us!
You will be able to cut your own flowers or choose from a stem bar. There are still dahlias and other flowers to create your own bouquet. The warm weather continues through the weekend, so come enjoy the flower farm in Stillwater.

Thank you so much for all your support in our 11th season. Time to get ready for frost and put the farm to bed for another year. With gratitude,
Susan

It was a busy weekend! Our first proposal at the farm, a bachelorette party, a beautiful cocktail/dinner party celebration event at the Lynhall in Minneapolis (thanks to my pal and designer extraordinaire Alison ), and a golden hour U-pick on Sunday eve! That was fun and I am grateful for all the people who support our farm, buy flowers, and trust us to flower their events. We are enjoying a long and lovely fall here in the Twin Cities. Let's see what October brings!
