Last week we bought 3 bags of Nutrena Nature Wise Layer pellets with herbs and stuff... My 60 hens were laying 4-6 eggs a day... Now I'm getting 18-20 in this heat is amazing!

We have a true survivor story! Little Poe hatched recently and it was a rough start. He couldn't walk at all and was just laying on his back kicking in the incubator.
His three siblings were ready to meet the world and went outside to live with our hen (who only hatched one of her own), but Poe just wasn't strong enough.
I had to get creative. He didn't have deformed feet, so I started holding him for short periods a few times a day, letting him keep just a tiny bit of weight on his feet on my hand, hoping to build some strength. Then I had an idea: I placed him in a little basket inside the incubator with a few unhatched eggs. That way, he could brace himself against the eggs to push up and practice using his legs without falling.
The very next morning, I checked on him and found him standing perfectly between the basket and the incubator wall! When I pulled the basket away, he walked right out of the corner as proud as could be. 💜
He has completely melted my heart and is getting stronger every single day. My little survivor! Poe🥰

Hard to believe that big bowl of veggies only made one jar of salsa, but then I didn't add all the onions.. but it turned out good 😋
