I’ve made a lot of changes over the past few years. Including a divorce, moving and getting married again. Ive been limping along with a skeleton homestead for a while now, but things are rolling along.

This is my experimental pairing. Rex is my tri Rex buck, and Holly is a very large opal mini Rex. I’m looking forward to a lot of harlequinized kits 🤞🏼 hopefully does to bred back to Rex.
A total project. But it will be fun. My goal is to have blue and fawn tri Rex a few generations down the road.

The current setup. Not the thermometer hanging from the ceiling, that is so I can keep tabs on the temp from inside the house. It’s gotten warm, but with all the windows and doors open, everyone has stayed comfortable. This is just for the next couple months.
The bottles are clean too. The water just has a lot of minerals in it.

There has been a lot of changes this past year, with more to come. I’ve just got a single little of Silver Fox Rabbits right now, and no short term plans for more. Hopefully by march I’ll be set up for more babies.

Rabbit kit photo dump… this isn’t even half the babies 😆 mini rex and silver fox.
I’ve got somewhere between 5 and 7 mature and weaned rabbits going to new homes soon.
1 or 2 to be processed.
1 bred doe (harlequin rex)
And before the month is over I need to breed 4 rex does.
I’m feeling pretty good about things. And I think I’ve got some decent and targeted goals for this breeding season. We’ll see how that works out 😅

Another look at the broken harlequinized castor, and orange & black tri sisters. I didn’t expect to like tri’s as much as I do. That is basically how I’ve felt about everything rabbit related. 😆

These two are sisters and I can only keep one. I sadly lost their mom right after they were weaned, and the tri is most like her in body type. She is a little smaller because she had a rough start. This is one of the litters that a couple of cats attacked, and a cat scratch abscessed. Because of that I believe she was a little stunted. I expect her offspring to out grow her, and I plan to breed her before the end of the month 🤩
Her larger, sweet harlequinized sister is going to another barn about then.

Ash Lad & Snow White had 10 kits, and this buck is the best one 🥴 I’m currently super limited on Rex bucks. So I’ll probably hold onto this guy for the time being, because he at least has better shoulders than he dad. But we will see.

Not to sound negative, but please don’t die 😅 And please be a buck. Out of alllll the kits I’ve got in the barn right now this is the only one that I really, really want. It *should* have some decent structure. But I’ve wanted a broken opal mini rex from the start, and this is my first.
Don’t get me wrong I’m excited about some of the others. But 🤩😍🥳
