Tomorrow the puppies make their last visit to their favorite vet, then will be moving in with their new families throughout the weekend. My heart is heavy, but these puppies are going to be amazing and do what Anatolians do best - guard and protect. Their new families may decide to call them by different names, but they will forever be Autumn Acres Cabuk Efrat (pink collar), Autumn Acres Cabuk Ahavah (red collar), and Autumn Acres Cabuk Gabar blue collar).

Wow, what a morning! Got trapped in a 6 x 6 hut with two goats, 3 puppies, and a large momma dog after an unexpected thunderstorm hit. The rain was celebrated, the wind and lightening, not so much.

Seven weeks and perfectly Anatolian. The competition to dig holes to China is intense, but not as intense as this heat. These little cuties have their own little routine - pool, mud, dig, wrestle, repeat.

How is it even possible the puppies are now 5 weeks old?!?! They are growing quickly, and their own unique personalities are shining through. All three are doing very well around the goats. They chickens, ducks, and turkies are all running around them and they will sit and watch them but are not making any moves toward them. Next week they get to go meet Dr. Yolanda for well-puppy exams.

We're starting to enter the fun stage. Puppies are hours away from being 3 weeks old. Today we moved mom and her puppies outside, and starting next week, we'll begin introducing them to a little puppy food. They still haven't quite figured out how to escape the puppy pool, but they are certainly studying the situation. Mom's going to have her paws full with these three in another week or so.

Puppy Update: We're now two-weeks old, our eyes are open, and we're walking around our puppy pool on all fours. We love to eat, take lots of naps, and snuggle with mom.

Cleaned the barn yesterday, and Ivory thought it would be fun to pick apart a bale of hay for a nest. Roasted duck is sounding good for dinner.

Farm life can be hard, time consuming, and frustrating, but there are great rewards. There is nothing better than cottage cheese made from farm fresh, unpasteurized milk topped with fresh blueberries from the garden. Cabuk is outside for a much-needed break, so while I puppy sit for a few minutes, I'm going to enjoy my snack and admire the babies.

Puppy Alert! We're excited to announce that Elkhorn Ginger Cabuk and Autumn Acres Elon are proud parents of 3 beautiful puppies, one male and two females. Puppies were born VERY early morning on June 27, 2026.
